Welcome to the sound outside your door
Welcome to the sun that's shining for
You and all your kind, be kind love more
welcome to the world, the world at war

Open up your heart, its cold outside
The tides about to turn there's nowhere to hide
This is not a dream, let freedom ride
Welcome to the sound, the sound inside

Think about his words and what they mean
Things are not a lie, they're what they seem
This is not a cause for which to bleed
Think about the world and what it needs

Open up your heart, its cold outside
The tides about to turn there's nowhere to hide
This is not a dream, let freedom ride
Welcome to the sound the sound inside

Always love it when I turn on RP and you're playing kiwi music - never heard of these guys though!  Still hoping you might play some Fat Freddy's Drop one of these days.

Agree. Great album. Would be nice to hear other tracks from it.
I think I really like this. Never heard any of Zane Lowe's music before and only know of him as a DJ in the UK.

Has a bit of a Lou Barlow + Snow Patrol feel to it.
Every time I hear this I am surprised how new and yet familiar and timeless it seems. I love the way they play with sound on this track! I've always loved the way the voice intro reminds me of how Traditional Chinese Medicine holds -- and I agree -- that the purely electrical energy held in the heart is dispersed and released into the world upon the death of that organ, and the hyun, or Eternal Spirit, that is moved and stored by the liver, also lives on, because it is magnetic; borne of iron-laden blood -- moving iron is magnetism, and the magic of hemoglobin juggling it is what, I believe, gives rise to the quantum manifestation of Qi, or Life Force (shakti, in Indic traditions), thus explaining, to me at least, the ancient TCM maxim, Blood is the Mother of Qi, and Qi is the Commander of Blood: The pulsing magnetic fields generated and thrown up by the moving iron protect us from withering cosmic radiation and the external fields and vectors of pathogens, IF our blood is rich enough also in oxygen and cobalamin; if not β€” such as when we are breathing shallowly due to grief, or illness, or imbalance, or if we lack sufficient iron and/ or B-12 due to veganism or other causes β€” then our "shields" are weak and we may be compromised or invaded by pathogens. Following The Law of Induction, these pulsing fields are in turn converted into alternating current in our nerves, which conduct electrons via the ions of electrolytes (calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium), since electricity and magnetism are interchangeable, and are constantly in transformative and transformational flux, which is the fundamental driving and self-perpetuating mechanism of Yin and Yang; when this process is in balance, all is well...when not, deficiencies and excesses take their toll. When there is excess, tempers flare, arteries constrict, discharges flow into adjacent circuits, and disaster follows... When there is deficiency, there is stagnation, torpor, and atrophy, and the kidneys send signals to the bones to redissolve bone matrix to free up and float electrolytes for short-term energy supply. If not halted or replenished, this chronic state leads to auto-immune diseases and cancer.
Let us strive to find, gather, and fire up every bit of the Love within us, and radiate it, while we can, for though Light is merely the visible part of the EM spectrum, I believe that Love has Infinite Quantum Restorative Power, in this and all realms, seen and unseen. Music is also a powerful magic; it makes me move my iron-laden bones through the Earth's subtle but massive fields, and generates current and resultant quantum effects, not only within me but within the entire Universe. RP and all the music contained in its stream is a most worthy and highly regenerative circuit; I'm glad I'm plugged in!

Very cool, I'm helping to upvote the ratings on most of todays playlist...

Sweet! 1st time. Sounds a little Phil Collins but mellow and that’s the magic.

Have submitted quite a few kiwi bands Straitjacket Fits the Chills and others but all declined

Love The Chills... please Bill check them out.  A good fit?

The Chills are fantastic.
Original Luna line up was people from Chills, Feelies, Galaxy 500.
Bill, you really need to play more from all 4 of these great bands.

Snow Patrol wants their singer back.

Definitely has a Snow Patrol feel to it. I like it.
This one had me from the first spoken words. It's a bit profound. I could complain that it's a bet repetitive. But the words are excellent. Chills. 9.
Do do that doo-doo that you do so well...   solid 3 But let us say "Go Breakers!" anyway.

What about Straightjacket Fits or The Chills?  We don't get any of them on RP either although I think they'd be nice additions.

Chroma Key with Peter Gabriel (a really low-key version) on vocals. Like it, might have to look closer at these Co-ops.
Cool song even without the lyrics, but these add.

Has someone already commented that this is reminiscent of Snow Patrol?

..so you're saying their sound is "Co-op"ted..?..
Perhaps its just me but I would love to hear this go into a heavier guitar led section ala Little Black Submarines.  It gets my attention as is but only so as to make me say yeah what do you want?
Really diggin' this.  Never heard of them before.  It sounds like a blend of Sonic Youth, Semisonic, and Zero 7.  Niiiice!
First time i have heard this or the group will have to investigate. The instrumentation at the start and throughout reminds me of a Sonic Youth song possibly from A Thousand Leaves, one of the quieter ones.

Something new, thats why i listen to RP.
One of my favourite albums (if not the) Thank you for playing it. If you can play it, I would love to hear "A Place For You" from this album sometimes.

You don't have to go anywhere to have fun. This track is growing on me and up to a 9 already.

I'll do a weird mind stretch, no problem.  But some of the stuff played earlier this afternoon (or whatever time it was on the Left Coast) was obnoxious.
awful. absolutely and completely boring
I thought it was Dumbledore maybe?

ditto

This is one of those awkward songs where I can only rate it a 5 but I'm glad my rating doesn't affect the current 6.8 that it's at.
I think this one would pair nicely with Black Sabbath's "Planet Caravan"
Let it out!

Just a little quirky.

I like it.

NOT BAD!

Still a long way to reach "ZERO7"

Nice, moody...{#Notworthy}{#Bananajam}{#Curtain} Peter Gabriel-ish

This is an EXCELLENT CD, if you're in the market. Very similar to Zero 7 or Air.

Every time this song starts, my ears perk up — OH!  It's *that* song I like!  For some reason I can never remember the band's name.  I will just have to break down and get this song sometime soon....  love it
Vocalist sounds a bit like (but not as god-like) Peter Gabriel, as well...
Agreed. Thought was Snow Patrol vocalist at first. Still, like it.

had to buy the album after hearing this song. Love the timeless sound these guys have. This is probably the best on the cd, but there are a couple other good ones..
Vocals remind me a bit of Chroma Key / Kevin Moore.

I made a screen saver using this and a couple of other Breaks Co-op tunes....very nice!  {#Sunny}
This grabbed me instantly.  Very cool.
New Zealand shout-out!!!

A really great album...it is better listened to as a whole body of work as opposed to single tracks. Their other album "Roofers" is quite worthy as well!

Both of which would be good things, IMHO. I like this song!

RP-Bill knows - that´s for certain!

Hmm. This reminds me of Summerbirds in the Cellar. Speaking of which, that band should be played on RP, I don't think I've ever heard it here.
When there is nothing left to burn... no wait, that's another one.
I wanted to upload some of their stuff. Some of their other work is well worth a listen. Great to hear a Kiwi act other than Crowded House on RP.
Its very musical it makes you want to DANCE.
