This is fun! My first post as a new member, and happy to finally join after hearing Sigmon.

Thanks to Sigmon for posting the lyrics!

Sigmon!  long time, no hear~!  just bumped this up to an 8.

Thanks so much to you all for your comments and support, I really appreciate it!

My kids did a slide show at my 50th b-day party this year. I insisted on only one thing — that they include this song in the soundtrack. Afterwards, people asked, "What was that song?", describing it as catchy, happy, etc.  So it was fun to tell them all about sigmon and RP.

Keep up the good work, sigmon!

Sounds like the ProTools Tutorial Song. This is not a good thing.
Crowded House rip-off.
Thanks so much to you all for your comments and support, I really appreciate it! Antigone wrote:
Can't find the lyrics anywhere online ... does he really sing: "I'm dancing with my suitcase"? I like it ... it's a good image.
The day after yesterday I woke up in today I feel so far away When I'm on the edge The letter will not be read Leave it lying on my bed There's nothing need be said When you're on the edge Now it's time to let all of it go Move into the world of what I don't know I'm dancing with my suitcase A different sun shines on my face I'll blow a kiss to this old place It's leaving day Now it's time to let all of it go Move into the world of what I don't know I'm dancing with my suitcase A different sun shines on my face I'll blow a kiss to this old place It's leaving day When tomorrow comes to stay We won't know what to say Was it real or only play Stepping off the edge
And to Jelani- sorry about the immaturity. I was born that way. Cheers! Matt

Love this song, great stuff. Bought the album, eclectic with a lot of catchy tunes.
OH , now that's just the most juvenile opening line I've ever heard in a song. Is that supposed to be cool or tricky? Ooooooh....
this one always grabs my attention... thanks for playing it, I'm gonna have to check out more Sigmon.
I just listened to 4 songs off this album on CD baby. I am going to buy it. Thanks, I didn't know Sigmon.

Really growing on me, too. ed: finally went up to 8 today (11/15)

I'd have to listen to this a lot then to accept that it is outstanding, unless you meant to suggest it was outstanding in its blandness
It got my attention enough to come across the room to check it out. Not bad!

Ha! What you think was a mistake was actually a stroke of marketing genius. Later this year I'll be making a line of "One Covers Up stick-on shirts", so if you have, say, issues with armpits, or you know, anything else that falls within that neck to belt line latitude, you'll be good to go. And you won't even need to buy the CD to use them. You can stick 'em on your monitor if you feel that's necessary. But, nice guy that I am, I'll go ahead and apologize personally for springing the armpit view on you. Sorry. Cheers, Matt
LOL!! I'm upping you a point for sense of humor!!
Meh.
Outstanding work. This grows on you each time it is played. I bought the CD and listened to it between Nashville and Memphis one evening ... over and over again ... Took me to the Edge and back..... Great stuff. Hurry up and get booked at Third and Lindsley ....
Very nice indeed, I am liking this band more and more. Nice to hear something a little different.
As a Wound, Ostomy, Continence advanced practice nurse, the cover art cracks me up!
ackkk..dead air...someone go wake Bill up!!!!
Sounds like Paul McCartney and Wings, back to Red Rose Speedway days, but not bad anyway.

Nah, don't "sweat" it...your pitties be fine. It's a very cute picture, IMO. Makes a girl want to tickle your belly! ;)
Dammit, liking this song even more. Sticks in your head like . . . sticky stuff. 8 to 9.

I might have advised against it... the armpits get alot of play in the picture

Still one of my favorite RP songs. Having 'met' Sigmon through mutual podcasting, it is cool to hear his music just show up in the playlist here. Nice guy. Great artist. Cheers!

Hey, that makes me terrifically happy, and it's all part of my diabolical plan. There's some subliminal legalese in there, by the way, that clearly, yet silently states a whole bunch of crap about me not being liable for aneurysms, spasms, siezures, twitching, yadda. You know. Made my day!
Spas8i7u09ms? TWia09ching? Naaaaah. . . I'm fIn3.
I really enjoy the opening to this.

great ending
5-7 starting to grow on me
Oooh... spooky - he talks back - Hey guys, come look at this - the artist is writing back .... never mind. I was hoping to come up with something profound in the vein of life imitates artist... Regardless - Great tune Sigmon: sort of Lenon meets the new century without all the old baggage.

Well, Sigmon, you should be happy - I've had your song rocketing around my brain off and on all weekend.

Like the song - can do without the weird cover art.
The artwork is very cool. Love the mirrored clouds with the intersecting line being between the hole in his middle. And the cartoon cutout through his flesh is very abstract. The mirrored clouds pushes the mind to think his body is mirrored (which the human form basically is) but there the subtle differences in human form from left to right side brings the mind back. And the music is pretty good as well. Lot's of other musical styles while still defining (or refining) his own. Nice!

The vocals sound very CSN(Y) to me.
I bumped him up a point for again making me think of Squeeze. Excellent power pop.
I was hearing Crowded House too.
This is really quite good.
Just bought the CD. Great stuff!! Every song has wonderful hooks. Shades of Beatles, Badfinger, Raspberries, Todd Rundgren, etc. It will grab you with each repeated listening. Very talented man, he plays all the instruments himself, don't know how he would pull this off in concert though?
Like the song - can do without the weird cover art.
Sounds a bit John Lennon-ish vocally. Like the guitar.
Can we say voice and words Whiny! Music would be better as instrumental.
I was reminded of Crowded House "everywhere you go, you always take the weather with you..." Its the singing in unison.
Celadonstone posted it right but the Crowded House version is great!
Excellent stuff! edit: just saw you are among us Sig! I very rarely post to a song on a first listening, so guess you got what it takes! Keep up the great work!
A nice original-sounding tune! With great acoustic instruments!
The cover tells me he's been listening to Bob Dylan's 'On The Road Again': Well, I asked for something to eat I'm hungry as a hog So I get brown rice, seaweed And a dirty hot dog I've got a hole Where my stomach disappeared Then you ask why I don't live here Honey, I gotta think you're really weird.
Thanks RP for giving extra voice to independents. I have found so much cool music on this station that I have never even heard of. Keep it up-pleeeze.
This song, not to mention the whole album, has a very unique, refreshing quality to it. Really excellent work!
Thanks very much for your comments, everyone! And thank you to RP for providing an excellent outlet for independent music! For more information on the album, visit matthewsigmon.com Cheers! Sigmon

Y'think?
Sigmon the sea monster?
I've been waiting to hear this one on RP for several months. It fits in well! Great stuff.
Just the kind of stuff that OUGHT to be heard on the radio, but isn't. Upbeat, intelligent and very well produced.
Great song! Reminds me of The Beatles in a lot of ways.
Great stuff!
Cool. Intelligent. Meaningful and melodic. Should be more tunes like this on the radio!
Pretty upbeat. Nice harmony.
