SUPERB!! Thanx RP!
If you ever get to Ireland you must spend a few days in Westport, Co. Mayo.
Thank me later.

Saw them at Carnegie Hall on St. Paddy's Day in '08... Tomoka and I drank at The Parade all day, sat in the 8th row, and got blown away!

"Sideways rain" ... you got that right.

You must be Irish!

Indeed! I'd love to hear some of the songs on the Irish Heartbeat album they made with Van Morrison on RP.
That was weird. I remember thinking "I didn't start the Cheiftans - I was listening to RP. Oh wait, it is RP." Thanks Bill - where else can you go to get Chieftans and James McMurtry back to back?
my favorite off this album, great!

awesome collection - well worth a full listen. excellent photos of the accompanying artists (and the Chieftains) as well.
Agree as well with Manbird. What a tasty way to start my lunch!

I'm with you on this manbirdexperiment
A nice change of pace, and not so in your face "trad" as to offend too many people. Me, I love the undiluted stuff found on their first couple records most, but this is a lovely tune. (P.S. to Manbird - howdy, neighbor!)

hmmmmm makes me feel i'm at McGinty's
This puts me in the mood for some Steeleye Span.

Beautiful. Mas, por favor.
Nifty little tune!
same old chieftains stuff. what a yawn.
Not the Chieftains' best (or Ry Cooders for that matter). Still good stuff. The Chieftains have one of the biggest hearts of all bands. They're willing to perform with just about any one. They seem to have a tradition of inviting traditional dancers; old, young, good, bad or great, from the local studios wherever they perform. Ry Cooder is still able to surprise me with his on-going collaborations with more genres than you could think of.
Guess we all had to think on this one a bit. This is one of the reasons I listen to RP.
I've heard a bit of Chieftains, but its been a blur on Fiona Ritchie's Irish/Scot music show "Thistle n' Shamrock". In response to another poster, when they say they Lassies I thought they meant women, not Collie dogs...?

keep the Chieftains coming!!! some gems also on Irish Heartbeat w/ Van the man
