You may think I'm foolish for the foolish things I do
You may wonder how come I love you when you get on my nerves like you do
Well, baby, you know you bug me, ain't no secret 'bout that
Well, come on over here and hug me, baby, I'll show you where it's at
Well, honey, it ain't your money, baby, I got plenty of that
I love you for your pink Cadillac, crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back, oozing down the street
Waving to the girls, feeling out of sight
Spending all my money on a Saturday night
Honey, I just wonder what you do there in the back of your pink Cadillac
Pink Cadillac

Way back in the Bible, temptation always comes along
There's always somebody tempting somebody into doing something they know is wrong
Well, they tempt you, man, with silver, and they tempt you, sir, with gold
And they tempt you with the pleasures the flesh does surely hold
They say Eve tempted Adam with an apple but, man, I ain't going for that
I'm going for the pink Cadillac, crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back, oozing down the street
Waving to the girls, feeling out of sight
Spending all my money on a Saturday night
Honey, I just wonder what it feels like in the back of your pink Cadillac
Pink Cadillac

Yeah, some folks say it's a little too big and uses too much gas
Some folks say it's too old, it goes just a little too fast
But my love is bigger than a Honda, it's bigger than a Subaru
Hey man, there's only one thing and there's one car that will do
Anyway we don't have to drive it, we can park it out in back
Have a party in your pink Cadillac, crushed velvet seats
Riding in the back, oozing down the street
Waving to the girls, feeling out of sight
Spending all my money on a Saturday night
Honey I just wonder what it feels like in the back of your pink Cadillac

I am 68yrs old. In 1970, I saw Bruce at the 3rd floor of the Upstage in Asbury Park. I went with my friend & his older brother. We snuck in some  booze. There less than 10 people in the audience.  We sat 5ft from the stage. At the time, Bruce had been playing with a very popular local band called Steel Mill. A fond memory that I will never forget!
EXCELLENT!!  Thanx RP!
Better to witness live, at the local watering hole, after a few refreshments.
2 1
Why dont we hear more old JLL? This album makes him sound old... and drunk... and old.

Wow this sounds like that late late night jam after several shots of tequila that nobody expected was caught on tape. Hoowee.
Neither man at his best. But neither at their worst, either. Tolerable.
Truth in labeling: This should have been called the Jerry Lee Lewis Welfare Project. Maybe a good cause, but a tedious song.
This sucks.
Wonderful follow through from I'ts Hard to be a Saint ... Pink Cadillac is superb as is the whole album, Jerry is a wonda!

so not worth it.
Soooo many versions of this to hate...
I'm still bummed nobody got my "Peat mirroballs of fire" comment in the Afrocelts thread
Jerry sounds a little slurry....still knows how to bang the keys, though...
Now we've gone over to the darkside.
I'm feeling intensely meh about this version.
Don't forget Natalie Cole's version, not the best but she was cute in the video
Everything I've heard from this album sounds to me like Jerry is a few years past his prime. But it's still 'The Killer', so past his prime is still pretty hot. The album feels more like a tribute album than a real musical effort. But that's okay too, they're obviously having fun and that counts for a lot. c.
Listened to this whole album out the back the other night, ít's so good an now to find it here on mains, bloody brilliant, fantastic add!
I'll take the Springsteen. By himself.

Well, they're both older than I am. And I'm pretty damn old.

Pretty strange reaction to this. I really like Jerry Lee Lewis, I'm not a huge Springsteen fan. So one would think I would consider this to be an improvement. But I like the original much better.
and who was born first? edit: my mistake, I was sure I'd heard Jerry Lee Lewis sing this before Springsteen. After some research, it's a duet. info here - (click here)
Always been one of my favorite Bruce songs (hey, shut up!), and having Jerry Lee Lewis contribute doesn't hurt it. Is the Clarence Clemons on the horn? I'm really enjoying this -- a great early morning pick-up!

Never heard this version before, cool song.
come on... not on radioparadise please...
I liked him better when his hair was on fire.
