Could someone provide references?
I was living in Tokyo when this came out, but I'd already spent '93-2000 on the Japan Sea Coast in Noto Hanto, and I MISS IT. So nice!
Never gets old.  Still in rotation in my car!
I am clearly not going to get very far from the speakers this morning....

Love Air. Love 'em.

Now may I suggest throwing some Air France into the mix?

the song and the video are both great

I was thinking how much I liked this song - then I watched the video, and that kicked it up to a whole new level of appreciation. Beautiful, erotic, ethereal, and that beat... Yep, like this song!  {#Bounce}

Hi Jaggy - Me too - love both and agree totally about the segue thing.

OK for the linguistically impaired:

"Hey! Check out the guy's Basket on the left"

{#Roflol} hahaha la sinistra is the left indeed in Italian...and it is not being impaired not to know that as in French we never use this word sinistre otherwise than to qualify something scary,portentous, evil-looking, eerie.
As for this sentence "Voila, ete Grand Basket su l'sinistre Homme" it looks like the game "le cadavre exquis"
" it's a game/creation system invented by the surrealist group: you write a word, you hide it and somebody else write another word, hide it etc... at the end you have a full sentence" (wordreference.com)

Pardonnez moi, Monsieur Poopypants, mais votre comment ne make sense pas.

You can't fool somebody with four years of high school Franglais.

For some reason, I feel like watching ER now....

I've got another album by Air, and when I first heard it I really thought it had been produced in the 70s it was so retro, and it didn't help that there was no date on the cover. Then I found a Wikipedia page on the band and they're really recent, and are a "critically-acclaimed" chillout band. Weird, but good.

  Sums it up.  Nice groove.  {#Music}

That was nice. Would have been more substantial with Jim Morrison vocals.

Someone should upload 'Die Fantastischen Vier - Tag am Meer'. It's German, but the lyrics and the groove are infectious.

Reminds me of Steely Dan for some reason.

Except when the CD is playing in reverse (on this track) the words "Banks are your friend. Your VISA card is a Holy Sacrament. Borrow More .. Borrow More ... Spend Spend Spend!" Guess we should not do this in a bank. Oh and BTW, did you know that a Japanese native speaking woman cries out "I am Going" at that crucial moment instead of the White Anglo Saxon "I'm Coming". Not sure what other cultures say although I have some ideas.
Even deeper, the earth, in fact, exisits within the sun's atmosphere. Alpine wrote:

Pocket Symphony has a bunch of solid tracks on it. Like anything I'd "sample" it before you buy it just to make sure.
I like this. I've heard other cool cuts from this album. Maybe I should buy it?
kinda movie soundtrack=ish, but cool.

well put. I always like them as background. Maybe I would like them better if I listened carefully, but I never do.....

What a nice move from Nick and the bad seeds "nature boy".
When I heard the opening, I thought it was a Steely Dan cover.
Ahh Nihonkai. I will see it for the first time this summer! Is that a shamisen that can be heard in the background, by the way?
"Merde Du Japon."
I remember when Moon Safari came out and Spin magazine said it sounded like the best collection of shoe-store music you've ever heard. I'm not usually a media tool, but it's the only review that made me buy an album wihtout even knowing what it sounded like. I'm glad I picked up on them back way when.
I bought it last week, too. Music-to-work-to-when-I-need-to-concentrate-but-still-want-to-listen-to-music music. But I like it. I'm sure some songs will pop out as above-average over a few listens.

I bought this album this week, and it took a few days to grow on me. Give it a few listens before deciding.
Hot damn! Super flow set! I'm gettin' my groove on in a most serious way. Thanks, B!
