I've been on the other side
Got my lips smacked now they're dry
Then you call me, call me in
You think I am your possession

You're messing with a southern girl
But my recipe is on with your
Stale bread, yeah, it's hot
But, baby, I don't need your cash
So, baby, maybe I let your

Big wheel turn my fantasy
Don't you throw your shade on me
I've been drinking down your pain
Going to turn that whiskey into rain
And wash it away
Wash it away
Wash it away, boy
Let's go

I've been on my knees
But you're so hard, hard to please
Did you take me, take me in
So you are a superstar
Get off the cross, we need the wood

Somehow you will rise
But without a tool
I know, honey, you're a pro
But, baby, I don't need your cash
Mama got it all in hand now

Big wheel turn my fantasy
Don't you throw that shade on me
I've been drinking down your pain
Going to turn that whiskey into rain
And wash it away
Wash it away
Wash it away, boy

Give me eight
Give me seven
Give me six
Give me five
Give me four
Give me three

I, I, I am a M.I.L.F., don't you forget
M.I.L.F., don't you forget
M.I.L.F., don't you forget
Baby, I don't need your cash
So, baby, maybe I let your

Big wheel turn my fantasy
Don't you throw that shade on me
I've been drinking down your pain
Going to turn that whiskey into rain
And let your

Big wheel turn my fantasy
Don't you throw that shade on me
I've been drinking down your pain
Going to turn that whiskey love into rain
Going to turn your whiskey, boy, into rain
And wash it away
Wash you away, boy
Wash you down

Big wheel

"Get off the cross, we need the wood". Tom Waits used that line in a song as well. Not sure of the song but I'm thinking Mule Variations, maybe "Come on up to the House" So what is it; a) an expression I've never heard of, b) one copped the line from the other or c) they both thought of it independently?
M.I.L.F... that's ok! Kinda puts Tori in a new light
never was a big tori fan, but i like this new album
I thought this was Brittany Spears. I had to check.

It's funny, I like this song specifically because it doesn't sound like her old stuff (though I didn't give it a 10). I found that by Boys for Pele she was starting to go too often to the same well, and I had given up on her until "Strange Little Girls", which seemed astonishingly experimental for Tori. I find this refreshingly rockin' and she's brought the lyrics back to earth in this tune. The more I hear it the more I like it. Why did you pick this song, which is so unlike the "typical Tori" for your rant? AO
I picked this song because it was the first from the new album at the time, and besides "Ireland", it was one of the few Tori songs that I absolutely hate with a passion. Sure there are some that I dislike, but "Big Wheel" and "Ireland" go way beyond dislike. As far as albums, I personally love "Boys For Pele" the most (for "Blood Roses" alone), and I admire her experimentation with new sounds on SLG, but my only pet peeve with that one is like a lot of fans, I think it lacks passion....especially on "Enjoy the Silence". I'm sure it's got to be the stalest cover ever. Fans knew about her contract issues and using cover songs as a means to weasel out of the contract may have seemed smart, but gone were the Tori lyrics and personal stories.

I also do not agree with all the harsh comments about this song. BUT I didn't give this track a 10. It's not a 10, but, in my opinion, it's not crap either. Given Tori's musical influences and tastes, it's not such a big stretch to me. I quite like the rolling beat of this track, even when the 'MILF' part comes in. It's a fun track, IMHO. My opinion is NOT because I am a Tori fan who "eats up" everything she does. Frankly, fans like that annoy me because they plainly think they need to love every little thing to be a true fan. I have Tori songs I hate, and songs I don't like as much as others. Most of my fellow Tori friends are the same way I am. Many of us rave about many of her songs because they touch us, they move us, and we just plain love them. Not because were being pretentious or blind. (BTW: "Big Wheel" is the US single, "Bouncing Off Clouds" is the single for everywhere else. Tori knew exactly what she was doing when she released "Big Wheel" for the US. We may not understand it yet, but, in the end, we will.) I rate it a 7 because I think it's a fun, catchy track. It's 'Quite Likeable' to me, and I may end up liking it more in the future. That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. :oP
Lyrically, "Big Wheel" is fitting for the U.S. Tori's pretty blunt about how she feels about issues concerning the U.S and misogyny on the whole album really. Musically, "Big Wheel" should please a lot of people in the U.S.....and THAT is my problem with it. I've heard one too many country songs on local stations similar in arrangement to "Big Wheel". Overall I'm cool with the whole album, it's just before the album leaked and officially came out, the only thing I was going by was "Big Wheel". I just still feel that Tori's done way better and have more complex songs than this. A little too familiar sounding for my liking.

I'm listening to "Big Wheel" for about the 5th time, and I'm sticking to my guns. "Big Wheel" is a sign that Tori is running out of steam. It scares me to know that the single for the new album is fuckin' "Big Wheel". Why not "Bouncing Off Clouds"? That one's a little more tolerable than this generic sounding pseudo honky tonk/sounds like it's been rushed shit song. There's nothing special about the song, and the "Give me 8. Give 7. Give 6....." and "I am a M-I-L-F, don't you forget" parts makes me cringe. Is this shit really Tori? Has she lowered her standards while trying to stretch her genre?

Best song she's done in a long time. Love the electric guitar.

I'll let you in on a little secret, most of the time I don't think Tori is as deep as some fans make her out to be. "Blinds flashing like cerulean colored fish gills on a sunny maniacal afternoon" Suge, I have no idea what it means, but it sounds kinda deep. I made that up as I was typing this. Love this - great video too
The album leaked a few days ago and "Big Wheel" is one of the worst songs from the new album. There are several songs that sound better, in my opinion. The album's good, better than Beekeeper which was like a fuckin' flatline. She goes in a Southern Rock/Blues direction for the rock driven songs, but it works for her. "Body and Soul" will kick you hard in the ass.
I'm not a Tori Amos fan, but this song makes me crank the volume. Sure it's catchy, and maybe her die-hard fans pan it, but it rocks. By the way, if she were cover Chocktaw Bingo, I'd give it a listen.

I agree. I'm a huge Tori fan, and her quirky, nonsensical lyrics are one of the things I love about her, but... really? a MILF? ...sigh...
Boy, that sucks.

I wish Bill would play that fine song in place of this crap. Liked Tori 15 years ago, but find everything she's done since then to be mediocre at best.

I'm not a big Tori fan. My coworker likes her more than I do, but he too is just occasional fan. We both like this song. Its fun. I don't know about overly profound lyrics, but She is a MILF.
Okay, the more I hear this, the worse it gets. :bleah: And that cover looks like a project for an introduction to Photoshop class. I've liked a lot of what Tori has produced, but she's sure stumbled on this one.
What an awful song!

Can't be. That song is funny and incisive. This song is a mess IMHO.

Sounds like she was desperate for a new sound and rushed and threw together this generic sounding honky tonk shit. Some Tori fans make me sick. She could make a song of herself retching in a toilet accompanied by C chords all throughout the song, and they'd still go on like it's a fuckin' Beethoven masterpiece. She doesn't always hit. I think this one is a big miss. Not quite worse than "Ireland" yet. Bring back "Pele" Tori. Bring back "Choirgirl" Tori. Any Tori, but "coffeehouse/Lite Rock/Running out of material" Tori. I will say that SW was a great album, but Beekeeper was like SW Lite. It just didn't have enough fire, and judging from the clips of these new Tori songs, looks like we're in for another Beekeeper...only worse. Lite Rock stations, here comes Tori. Get ready for her to be your darling. I know with marriage, age, and kids, warrior Tori will never happen, if it does then it'll come off as phony. Can't win, I guess.
