I tried to see your side
Living up all your life
The thoughts that threw me down
Was everything but inside
The times that took me back
Afraid to let you go
Giving up all my life
The tears that are stuck inside
Tying up all my eyes
Afraid to let you go
Deifly all the signs that you find
The love that took you there
Was so real and scared
Try to open your eyes
The love that took you there
Was so real and scared
Dissatisfy yourself
Living up all your dreams
The fact that threw you so
Was everything that it seemed
Who will forsake you now
Giving up all your fight
Afraid to let you go

It's just brilliant, should be rated higher.  Feel it, folks.

This is always a joy to hear.
Bliss! Always love hearing this! Kinda Nada Surf-ish, maybe shades of Delays; also familiar yet new every time...hits some important nodes in me somewhere!

If you need an argument about Chrissie Hynde on a flower-petal of a pretty song by a delicate band called Coral Sea, welcome to RP.

I think this is a nice sound. Doubtful anyone's gonna write home about it, but quite nice.

Till I checked who it was I thought 'Swedish'. And the title could have been for a song by the Clash. But all that is irrelevant as song is great!

Thanks for the heads up, bakshi, I'll try to play this on the big speakers when I can.  And since BillG pointed out this band is from SB, I'll go 6+1 = 7 for the 805 nostalgia...Long Live RP!!

The whole album is a hidden gem. Check it out.
Love this tune. Haven't heard it in years. Bought it way-back-when after hearing it on RP!
Very nice lyric and composition. Somehow reminds me of 'The Bends' era Radio head.

Very good !

Is this song sad or is it happy? It depends on your mood I guess. Anyway, it's always great to hear it. You could play it more often, Radio Paradise :)
The comparison is extremely superficial.
i love this artist.

She has a lazy nasal delivery that is reminiscent of Chrissy. But nothing like as close as Florence.

I can hear a little Chrissie Hynde and Aimee Mann.

Go'on give it a sero...... after all, it has no meldody  I knew a girl named Meldody once. She was very melodic. She was fine too.  {#Confused}

Wondering where you —- and a few others here - got that from.

Sounds nothing like anything the Pretenders have ever recorded.
Not my style, maybe I just don't get it...
great stuff but very disappointing not to be able to buy this on vinyl.

well, one more record i won't be spending money on because of the ignorance
of the good old vinyl.

Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld called - they want people to stop using variants of their 15-year-old line, especially when those variants don't seem particularly accurate, but I guess everyone hears different things in singers' voices.
By the way, the singer in this band is of the male gender.

The sound of vocals in this reminds me of Lennon's "#9 Dream" a little bit.

There is not much to this song that appeals to me. Just saying.

Opening notes...insta-Led Zepplin, then after that, it's not as good, but decent.

Is this why I don't live in CA?!
Rey Villalobos, the singer/songwriter for Coral Sea, is a man. Pity a number of folks below seem to have a problem with that. This song is beautiful. Another group like Silversun Pickups in a very nice trend started earlier by Mercury Rev and the Flaming Lips. Thanks, RP, for playing it so often. I'd love to hear more from this album.

Glad I wasn't the only one to think that. I'm a serious Pretenders nut, and at first, I thought "What? I've never heard this song before."
Well, I figured out it wasn't, even before seeing the "Now Playing". Still, quite a resemblance, and enjoyable. Jeez, Chrissie just sends me over the edge...

Love this.  Although TBH I can hear about 3 other artists in there - it starts out sounding like Chrissie Hynde covering Radiohead, then the chorus is really reminiscent of an NZ band called Goldenhorse.    But still lovely.

Great playlist, this one.

i really do not care one way or another whether you like the song or not
but to make a statement such as "a man I guess, but probably not from the local football team"

Too difficult to sort it out. Only that much: I dont feel superior to anybody. And communication via the web

Have a nice one!

Totally!!  I was thinking the exact same thing.  But this is a dude singing?  Weird.  Sounds like a woman.

What's going on here...a little Wendy (nee: Walter) Carlos action?

Not all gay men are girly, nor are all girly men gay.

Shhh.... macho closeted homosexual guys have an anxiety tantrum whenever they hear anything they remotely associate with gays... high singing voices, sensitivity, understanding, caring, knowing how to cook, heck even nice shoes... Don't say the word countertenor, it might raise macho closeted guys' blood pressure.

It's ok macho closeted guys, we understand that you are secretely bi or gay, and don't worry, we can't see you in your room when you secretely pull out your gay porn videos. Us straight guys who are completely secure about our sexuality don't have any anxiety when we hear a male singer with a high voice or anything else that triggers you closeted boys. In fact, us straight guys who are completely secure about our sexuality really don't care if you're gay or anyone else is.
