Was a huge Grant Lee Buffalo fan and often forget he had a few pretty cool tracks on the subsequent solo albums too.

The internet was tailor made for two things:
1) people born to post nothing but negative spam on any song, product, person, business, etc. and subject under the sun and Moon. Often these types are "fixated", i.e., so and so is the world's greatest guitarist, usually somebody rated in the top 100 guitar players on Rolling Stone. Or maybe they despise all 100, either way, they are buzz-kill because they get a reaction to their infantile ramblings.
2) people like the rest of us that love rp and most if not nearly all of what they collect and play. I woke up with headphones on about a month ago, hearing Amadou and Miriam for the first time.

One of the great things about an eclectic station like rp, is sooner or later, you hear an old familiar, or brand new song. BTW, if you take even a casual glance at his rating pattern, he simply dialed up one artist after another and rated them. It wasn't as if he actually listened to the songs. Pretty funny when you think about it. At least the long, lost and—at least to one habitue of these pages—lamented Physicsgenius actually listened to the stuff before he savaged it.

Chill, brothers and sisters. The XBoy took a powder some six months ago and hasn't been heard from since. Unlike PhysicsGenius, with whom I rarely agreed but admired for his wit and erudition, XBoy seemed only to revel in pure, vile negativity. Seconded. A shame that you can't have killfiles on web fora. Nowt wrong with negative comments, but his relentless slagging off really is wearing and wearying. As he rates some 25% of RP's output as sucko-barfo you do wonder why he hangs around here. Reminds me of some footie fans who swear loyalty to their team but only go along to matches to relentlessly slag off their own players. Must be a form of catharsis, I guess ;-|

Voice, backing and lyrics are reminiscent of John Lennon. Which, unfortunately, is not a good thing for me as I hate Lennon's music :(
