Kind of sounds like a lamer version of Sublime to me, which isn't much.
Man, what a polarizer! I'm going with a 7; like that old-school organ sound.
Kinda messy, don't ya think? Like they're not sure where they're going....
If we're going to do rap, let's do some old-school stuff?

Liking this a little better. Maybe I'll upload an "alphabet rap" from Quannum and see if it makes it to the LRC.

Lyrics Bourne - You the shiz.
I like the panicky anger in his voice.
The beginning of this sounds so J. Geils-like.
FunkinGroovy. Not great, but acceptable.
still not liking this one at all...every time you play it, I have to change the station. ack!
there's also a very good cover of this track from Stereo Mcs that RP could/should put on the playlist...
I was a fan of rap and hip-hop in the 80s, but didn't really like where it devolved in the 90s. I cannot tolerate most of what passes for rap these days, but maybe it's because I'm an old man (You kids get off my lawn!). Anyway, heard this and looked in to Lyrics Born and the Quannum Projects a bit. Decent stuff.
Liked it......

Looks like we started an RP-sect,by all means let everybody join in,hang on 1 sec, gotta TCOB,now I'm ready, had to knock this baby down from a #2 to #1 first! NOW JUMP!!!

zero melodic structure.
? The melody in the bridge is cool! This aspect, and the singer's chops are about the only things I like about this song. It's pretty mediocre in most other ways. EDIT...I'm starting to like this more after another listening.
Verpeiler wrote:
Ok for you, I presume?
Not me ... this still sucks.

accck! pfffft! seriously repetitive lyrics with zero melodic structure. I love great funk, urban beat and rap stuff, but this has very little of what makes a tasty groove. JMHO
Oh, thank Jeezuz...you said that perfectly. A rare 2 from me. More bridge jumpers than I originally anticipated....

I wouldn't mind hearing Sex Machine now and again. There are only four JB songs in RP's library.
Still awesome. 9/10. You can see by looking at the rating that Radio Paradise does not have a very urban listener base. Stereo MC's remix highly recommended..

Amazing .. working away here and all of a sudden it's "what's that gawdawful tune that Bill's playing?" Still a 1.
I like this wait, no I Changed My Mind
We want the funk. We GOTTA have the funk!

Yea, I could use some more funk in my RP diet.

now that you mention it, there is a serious lack of real funk on RP, isn't there? Edit: wow, this has got to change:
Sorry -- No artists found matching "the meters" Sorry -- No artists found matching "parliament" Sorry -- No artists found matching "funkadelic"

Just a little farther than a Quantum leap, eh? Could use a bit more imagination.

The middle part kind of ruins it for me...chachachachangedchachangedchachangedmymind...
Very cool.. check the Stereo MC's remix too, it's craaaazy good.
This band and Michael Franti make me want to jump off a bridge.
vocalist kinda sounds like joe strummer (after he got older). good follow from the guns of brixton. :)

quite funky. guitar has a Nile Rogers groove going
Never heard of 'em. I like it.
good funk track
This is a pretty good track really. A nice feel good thumper. :)
Seems like every negative comment comes with an \"I change my mind\" gag. Maybe having a bad sense of humour is a precursor for not liking it :)
I like Lyrics Born well \'nuf.. He\'s a local boy and is great to see live, and his flow is real easy on my ears. But yeah I agree this mix gets a little repetitive. If you like the voice but not the song, check out LB\'s album \"Same !@#$ Different Day\". It\'s groovy!
I changed my and the radio station
I knew I recognized that voice... from a DJ Shadow song.
I haven't changed my mind, it's still a 1.
This has a sound like a funky remixed/updated Doors, and that's cool by me. I like it.

Whoa! Such negativity! I'd like to have some of the music these negative folks are listening to... I was liking it enough to stop installing a sump pump and cast my vote... I wonder if you folks who are panning it can provide some alternative suggestion to this funkiness?
Poor breath control, poor ennunciation. Poor connection with drum line. Poor guy.

I put it on a mix cd and found myself skipping over it after only a short while.
I rated it 8 at first..but, you know, I changed my mind...6
Sounds like they didn't have much planned to record that day, just turned on the tape, and jammed, and in too inspired a way. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. They could have worked for days on this one. But I doubt it.

Wow, I thought that voice was familiar. Definitely funky!
Sounds good at first, but begins to wear on me.
wore on me the whole time
I changed my mind, Bill may like get up and go music and his morning java
I had this same problem once (bad Chinese food), but I took some Imodium and it tightened it right up.
Kinda Widespread Panic-ish.
This track would fit comfortably on Galactic's Ruckus album.

Saw an old magazine cover that called Beck 'The Godchild of Soul'
Whatever it is, Just Do it, Do it, Do it 'til you're satisfied. Ring a bell?
I bet these guys would rule live.
I hate to go against the tide but with each repeat listening I can tolerate this song less and less. It was stuck in my head last night and I couldn't sleep. Blech.

Oddly enough, it is making me uncomfortable in my seat. I don't even think I dis-like the song. There's just something about the beat that is making me "feel" it badly.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that! I had to check and see if that was JB singing.
Nice groove bayyyyyyy-bah!
It's nice to have a little change of pace once in a while. love it.

Upped my rating after the second listen. Changed my mind...

This is the original cut. I think it's better than the great Stereo MC mix (which is currently on the LRC by the way). It's Quannum feat. Lyrics Born & The Poets Of Rhythm.
Thanks for the info. At least I know what I've been listening to.

Check out "Lyrics Born" if you dig this tune
Uhm....no. Blech...
nudges this ditty up to an 8. Great!
Not bad, even if the name appears to be one of those annoyingly misspelt ones.
Sounds like this band was made up of the shards of a fragmented Blood, Sweat and Tears. Not bad, but the drums are all over the place

Gah.

When was this released? It has a serious early 70's vibe. This is a good thing, IMHO.
Groove-a-licious! 7

Wow, what an uninspiring tune. Nobody even bothered to vote..
