Both music and voice are brilliant.  Dandys can cover whatever they like as far as I am concerned.

stupid record companies

good tune tho

Musically pretty good, but the voice doesn't fit.
Good Lord is this over yet?

If your gonna cover AC/DC, two rules;
 - pick the right song to cover
 - do it like these guys;  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMfh4WQuGc8

Just got some old JBLs from a second hand store....first listen is to this on RP. New "old" speakers and a "new" old song. It doesn't get any more eclectic than this! Groovin' it.
New season of "Mythbusters" features a new theme song performed by The Dandy Warhols.

I was about to say something similar, but yeah, you summed it up nicely!

Stoner version.

Check out the colors man!!{#Lol}

That would be AWESOME!

She could do a whole CD of covers.

I vote she also cover "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and 'Santeria".

The only way it could be better is if she included a duet with William Shatner.

Man, that does sound great especially a duet with The Great Shatner doing Santeria, good stuff!{#Cheers} BTW, what little respect I had for the Dandy Warhols and I did have little as it was is all gone now.

I loved it!  Play it a lot, Please!  It's good to see a good band like The Dandys do a cover, especially with all their very fine original tunes.  Quite a compliment to the musical likes of AC/DC I think.
out of all the covers that could be played... this makes it on radio paradise?

now johnny cash to the clash-straight to hell would have worked just as well instead of putting this poc in the broadcast.
They should do a duet with Big Bird from Sesame Street!

Nope. Not for me.

This version of Hell's Bells is hilarious (cuz of where it comes from, and what it's become in the hands of the Warhols). Really great stuff. They've made it their own, completely. Sounds very spaghetti western! :-)

HA HA HA HA HA HA!  Didn't think about the Australia Tour - AC/DC connection!  Bet that got a GREAT crowd reaction at every venue.  I'd Bet it was their encore at least once!

Lovin this - maybe a Bonn Scott ac/dc song wouldn't kill anyone now and then

Feedback?  I thought that was my lunch coming back up.

What next Celine Dion doing this one? Needs a littel bag pipe with the trumpet
Blecchh.

Maybe a half a step above the Pat Boone cover.
I like both AC/DC and The Dandy Warhols but this doesn't do anything for me.
Love it
WTF?!
Awesome segue from Johnny Cash "The Man Comes Around"! {#Dancingbanana_2}
This song is not good.
this is cool - haven't heard this version before
I prefer to rock out with the AC/DC version.  This one is too boring!

{#Sleep}
I love the idea of this - but it's kind of a lazy effort.

Agreed! Now there is a great cover band!!
Funny thing is, this song fits perfectly into the Warhols style, doesn't seem like a stretch. Don't like it though.{#No}
I. Love. The. Dandys.

I suppose its kind of funny, nothing's sacred anymore (AC/DC sacred?  haha... now that is an amusing thought!).  Really takes the piss out of the original I reckon.

Wow, you're right. Do you have any of his stuff on CD? Please upload.

Now I have to go see if I have any Saints. Don't think so. Dammit you're gonna cost me some money!

Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around -> The Dandy Warhols - Hells Bells

BREATHTAKING SEGUE

Once again, I bow in the presence of the master.

Then you should get her cover of Billy Joel's "Traveling Prayer" on The Grass is Blue.

Yeah, his voice is pretty much the opposite of Brian Johnson on this, but somehow it works.  Of course, I also feel myself wanting to scream the lyrics...

Tue American Junkies.
Bet?

This song's clearly STOLEN
from ED KUEPPER
(the German Aussie)

Yes - I like them too - especially their best songs!
The rest is mostly crap!

PS
And why nobody plays "The The"...?
One of England's finest?

Try "The Whisperers", for starters,
you will smile - and wonder,
PROMISE!!!

I thought this was rather mesmerizing.
Damn! I missed this!

Then this is animal cruelty.
I had no idea what this was when it was playing in the background...even reading the name of the song seemed like just a coincidence.

So here's to a cover that sounds almost entirely nothing like the original. Which on the one hand is an amazing feat. But on the other, I admit makes me a little uncomfortable, since the original is so ingrained in my musical memory.

Will need another listen to see if I like it on its own merit.
Bill must love this one. I've seen him "put down" many a song that had a better rating than than this one (and with fewer plays). Sometimes you've got to do the humane thing, Bill.{#Skull}
Suppose this will be played in office building elevators?
{#Puke} 16% of listeners rate this a 1.  That's pretty bad.

An 8 - simply for the fact that it gives a swift kick to a sacred cow.

It'll do. But now I have to go play the original to clear the fluff out of my ears

An embarrassing and bland attempt. Attempt at parody?

AC-DC...very good.

Dandy Warhols...very good.
Dandy Warhols covering AC-DC...terrible.

Ugh.  Can't say I find this a good cover.
Again with the quirky covers = :D
I've obscene and heard some things these years..oh..I played an embarrasment or three, so s'all good, to be sure. First time RP got the kill switch here, 'tho. AAARGH!

That's my opinion! Calm down friends, both versions are great. The one from ACDC is classic, an Dandy's .... it's just a DW Song like so many (good ;-))

I like the Dandy Warhols, but not to sure about this cover. I will give it a good open minded listen.
This is really good...

What I like is it shows you can - and should - make a cover your own. The Cake version of War Pigs was getting a lot of local airplay a while back. It just makes me want to hear Sabbath's version, but I respect them for putting something of themselves in to it. This is an honest to g*d reinterpretation of Hell's Bells. It's good stuff, but It makes me want to pull out Back In Black.

I wish the rest of this song was as nice as the brass!

Nonsense! With covers, the risk increases with the popularity of the original. But if a band wants to run that risk, then be my guest. By the way, while I love the original, this version is pretty cool.
Funny at first but drags on for about two minutes too long...
The vote distribution is more interesting than the song. Very few songs elicit such a polarized reaction. To me it sounds like they made it different for the sake of being different. Props for taking a risk, but it's just weird, at first listen anyway. Maybe I'd like it more if I was more familiar with it.
Taking this on it's own (without comparison to the original), it's pretty good. Don't penalize it because it's not the same as the AC/DC version ...
Original! Cool organ!
I applaud the effort, but I can't say I enjoy the results much.
WTF?!?!

Brilliant! They've actually made a good song from a crappy original.

Uhhhhhh ...... no.
What the &*%# ?
Now there's a twist on the original. Very amusing!
GAHHH. Eeee. wrong wrong wrong. bad bad bad. no no no. down down down.
Promising at the very beginning but then thoroughly resolving to pure crap by the second verse.

I kinda dig it. AC/DC is not one of those bands so great that they shouldn\'t be covered. I\'ll take this over the original (so long as I don\'t hear it as often as the original).
I like it. Seems to inspire passion. That\'s good!
Lemon 714??
The band Jackpot used to do this in their shows and it was even more stripped down, almost alt country style, took people halfway through the song to realize what they were hearing. Thought it was great. A good cover should sound nothing like the original, otherwise what's the point? It was once said about Bryan Ferry, that when he covered a song that his version would become so different that it would become his own. That's what a good cover should do.
It's like Air crossed with AC/DC ... but not in a good way.
Like other DW stuff... Love the horns, vocals are poo. saying ...bells... doesn't cut it.
