Like the song.
My question is: what arts and graphics freaks conjure the cover art on this and a slew of other collections? What syllogism aphorism decodism pretensionism am I to analyze with such an image? Can't they just do a photograph or something?

"Arts and graphics freaks?" As a graphic designer and artist, I don't care for
your tone. A designer laid out the album cover picking a font, colors,
and possibly picked the art or hired an illustrator or artist for the
image. As for the choice of image, who knows? Maybe there was a line in one of the songs on the record that suggested it. Or the band liked the image. The approach is often something evocative/symbolic/suggestive and not literal.

That imagery seems pretty clear and self-explanatory, if not decidedly cromulent.  What fun would it be "just do a photograph" anyhow?

Keen.  It's fab to hear a song that features rowing! This might just have to be my theme song. Hurrah.

In high school one of my English teachers told us the story of a kid who had to write a 500-word story so he wrote:
"I got into the boat and started the engine and it went putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt
putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt putt ..........." (repeat 488 times).
Love it, go Sweden.

Another Swedish artist? You guys sure do produce some great bands and singers, at least going by what I hear on RP. Not to mention some great authors such as Henning Mankell. I wonder if your cultural creativity comes from those long winter nights when the daylight hours can be counted on one hand and time must lay heavy upon you. Whatever the cause, keep 'em coming :)

I would imagine that there isn't much else to do when it's dark for 976 hours straight... {#Wink}

Why is the album name "Once Upon a Time" when the cover art shows "FireSoul?"

Good song!
Giddy up!
Great tune. Reminds me of The Alarm (in a good way). {#Bananajam}
Perhaps a segue to T Waits -"Misery's the River of the World"? (everybody row!) or is that too obvious

Funny....that's what I though!

Hmm, had to check to see what I was listening too - I thought it was Midnight Oil, and then Midnight Oil pops up as the next band!  Guess Bill thinks they sound similar enough to go together, too {#Smile}
Nice! Where were they when i was growing up in Gothenburg? Oh, yeah, they weren't born yet!
BPM and soaring guitars... what a combination!

Nice enough tune, by why the western theme?

The romance of the southwestern US may be lost on its current inhabitants.

i think the western theme is what gives this song character.

Do Swedish radio stations ever play any good music?

(To be completely honest: I had never heard The Unisex before, even though I live in Sweden. Bill is always way ahead of me...)

Okay, maybe this is it...what I've been looking for...
Ok, ignore AMG! Just went to their "My Space" site. All is well. Sorry for the previous waste of time. A visit to Monty Python's Cheese Shop comes to mind.
Nice song! Unfortunately, the AMG link leads us to a British band (not Swedish) that is mostly instrumental. Very curious. The AMG info just says "Unisex," not "The Unisex. Maybe that's the difference. I will research more.

From Sweden? How come I hear them on RP first? It just goes to show how much commercial radio sucks these days. I hear the good music from my own country from freaking California these days.
I could make the same comment on commercial radio in Canada. Justin Timbercrap and Nickelback until you could just ">

I agree with my fellow swede below, never heard of The Unisex before. However, I suppose it shows how much good music this country actually produces. And by looking out into a snowcaos called Stockholm today I suppose we find the reason, there is no point leaving the house so why not continue writing songs... My first ever RP comment - therefore I just have to say I love your station. Keep it up from me and my friends in Stockholm, Sweden!
Welcome to RP!!! Please feel free to join us in The Forum. (Snowchaos? Now I know why I don't live in Stockholm!
