Excellent point, as usual  Life Is Good

Repetitive, but I like it anyway.  Good beat - makes me wanna dance! {#Dancingbanana}

The term for such a song is called an "earworm" (lovely imagery, huh?) and you're right, this song is incredibly annoying. A -2 from me as well.
earworm eh? I like it. Nice to have terminology for this. Thanks.

I will never understand why with such a large and diverse playlist RP still follows the standard radio practice of putting songs into heavy rotation. I know on RP "heavy" isn't quite as heavy as on commercial radio, but still... why this song so damn often?
This song isn't played as often anymore (thank God) but I agree with this statement wholeheartedly.
Frank Black you're not fooling me. You're really Black Francis!
Frank Black is highly, highly overrated.
Repetition is really really really really really really really annoying.
I love the Pixies....but no. Sorry Frank, but it gets a 2. Would be a 1 if it wasn't for the fact it is you.
Ho Hum
I'm not typically one to complain about interesting arrangements, but I really miss drums on this tune. Without them this just sounds like a demo.
Whew...I missed it. I think this was just played this time yesterday. Another one of those songs that I didn't mind until I started hearing it every day. I love the variety on RP, but some songs get played so much it makes me really hate them. And I normally like the Pixies and Frank, but this song just grates on my nerves.

1st time I've heard it...and at a glance, I like it!

Not unless they were hauling AK-47s around in the 13th century. The song lyrics are pretty clear on that point. pilate wrote:
I did not hear this song, so not sure what this is about, but it could also be about this guy. I believe that Gyaneshwar is just another rendering of Dnyaneshwar in the English language.
love it.
I like Frank Black..... but this one is on my mute list...
Been hearing this tune with noticeable frequency on RP. It's certainly catchy (and the background info increases my interest), but are there other songs on Black's "Christmass" album that warrant a RP spin?

Apparently it's about the assassination of Swami Gyaneshwar (follow Bills link). Hence the reference to the AK-47. Yikes ... fun song for such a serious topic.
this is tipping to a nine :-) Dig.

Need a bio-break bad . . . Bill, would you mind terribly playing something off the bottom of my ratings list? Thanks!

Very good. He never disappoints.
Gyaneshwar is not in the dictionary
This compiliation is a bunch of live material and stuff recorded in hotel rooms while on tour, it\'s perhaps a bit more for the avid fan, but there are a lot of great tracks.
I\'m obsessed with this guy; I don\'t quite know why.
