You might as well surrender now
You'll never hold that stance
With all my words
I can't find one
To help you understand
It's not too late
Take up the cup
Put down your weapons and choose

But you say life's so unfair
Oh you say life's so unfair
You can ill aford to hold to this views
You need something to blame

But it's you
Yes it's you
It's your truth

Someone made you
I don't know ,if you're sick
I confort
You run away
My simpathy
You twist it
Your reflex gets in the way

You mother me
I son you
You act up
I can't get through

This foosteps
So ancient
In your eyes
I'm your infant

Your ancient
Full circle
In my eyes
You're my infant

Dead ball in our court
We've got a dead ball in our court

We just say life's so unfair
Yes you say life's so unfair
You need something to blame

But it's you
Yes it's you
It's your truth

Same here. This is like Radiohead in that respect, although the male singer is like aural Valium rather than the high-pitched whining of Thom Yorke. The woman backing singer is better, but still not enough to rescue this from lullaby status. The ideal song for to be played at 2am for insomniac shift workers {#Sleep}

Still, one person's snoozeville is another's elegaic, so I can see the appeal of this lot, sort of.

Great to hear this again. Great to hear any James on RP.

The two mini albums they released last(?) year were great, too. Amazing that a band can still be this brilliant after so many years together.

Bingo.

This is one of the best bands you will ever see live in concert. Tim Booth is a marvelous entertainer. And a great singer.

The music is very pretty, but the staccato vocals are kind of annoying.

Way underrated band and album. Pleased to Meet You is one of the best releases of this decade.

What, is it not Alaskan music?  Not native to you?

WTH is this garbage?
Like the tune, but the song meanders too much for my taste.    I thought at first it was going to be a really cool remake of "Invincible" by Pat Benatar
I love James, but have not heard this! Kudos!

Gee Bill, couldn't find any songs about putting lipstick on a pit bull? ;^)
James is coming to the West Coast with a new album - in Anaheim October 5- and the music is their usual stunningly good, melodic style. Thanks Bill for playing James - they rank #1 on my iTunes as most 4 and 5 star songs.

Interesting fact, the picture of the man on the cover of this album is a pastiche of all the faces of the band members photoshopped together to make 1 human being.

Rock on James!
heard on local NPR (KCRW) that there might actually be a US tour upcoming! (love this one, btw)

Granted, "Laid" might be their finest hour, but this record, their final outing, comes pretty darn close. Especially when containing atmospheric masterpieces like this.
One of the most beloved bands in Greece (and James know it well), an absolute sold-out in their last year concert in Athens. Not only this album, but their whole discography, is a smash! Give them a chance, they are really worth it. Hope they come back again soon.
I really though I had James pidgeonholed until I heard this song. I like it shows the breadth of their musical growth considering the earlier stuff.
give the band a chance...they are really good...but the earlier tracks are the best...
Wow first time on here. At first thought it was a female singer but its a guy, right? wonder if James is his name. Prolly not. reminds me of Andy Pandy and if anyone gets THAT reference they've come a long way...let's just say its not complimentary
Don't know this. I had to check to see if it was the same band I remember. Learned something.
the self titled album is the best. good stuff
