It never used to be that bad
But neither was it great
Somewhere in the middle then
Content and much too safe
Oh tell me please
Why it takes so long
To realise when there's something wrong

Chorus:
Lay me out with your heart
Now we're getting somewhere
Push me back to the start
Now we're getting somewhere
Take me out let me breathe
Now we're getting somewhere
When I'm with you I don't care
Where it is I'm falling

There's money in the Bible Belt
Hugs for daddy too
Three wishes for eternity
We've got some work to do
Oh tell me please, tell me what went wrong
Cos I believe there is something wrong

Chorus

When you took me to your room
I swear I said surrender
When you opened up your mouth
I saw the words fall out
Though nothing much has changed
I swear I will surrender
There is pain in me heart
We can choose what we choose to believe

yaaaaaay! i am loving this song all over again! back to 1987 i go!

Another great Australian / New Zealand band, this is one from many of their brilliant songs.

I love the sound of Crowded House on days like this, when the weather's so hot it's a struggle to even move - they always make me FEEL like I went somewhere.  Good song...{#Music}
A great album from an underrated group.  It had their biggest hit and these other fine songs.

That's manbird. . .

Yeah, I dunno, maybe it's an acquired taste. In the meantime, 2.
Nice!

- Music is bland
- "Singer" is doing nothing but screaming, which doesn't match the music style
- Sounds like it was recorded on a Sony Walkman held by a guy in the verrrrrrrry back of the room

Couldn't disagree more.
Love how Finn belts out this one.

Better listen again.  Neither  comment is accurate.  Rather intense production, which fits the song.
An absolutley amazing album in surround (DVD-A).

I think most RP listeners would prefer that this one go to sleep and not ever wake up!

And you think it's overplayed, right?
Joyous, ebullient, harmonious songmaking!

Hey, great to hear this on RP -- when I saw them do their Woodface tour at CU Mackey Auditorium in fall of '91, they really went wild on this one...Happy memories! Thanks, Bill, and play CH or Finn Bros. ANYTIME!

Uh...not. Don't think they quite reached that far and wide...but decent enough music, nonetheless.
The Beatles of the 1980s.

You're welcome - that would be me! One of my classic CH favorites too. (I see several new songs in review on the LRC, so hopefully something new will get added too)
Yeah, like some of the new songs!!!! grace6697 wrote:
