If they shoot me down to shut me down
Who will take my place?
If they bring an army into this town
If they shoot me down to shut me down
Who will take my place?
If they bring an army into this town
Who will take my place?
If they rule this land and silence me
When I'm laid out with injury
When my words won't matter anymore
Who will take my place?
Revolution you are not my hope
Who will take my place?
There are flowers painted on these stones
Who will take my place?
When the silence of oppression dies
Overheard beyond the battle cries
Are the words of final compromise.
Who will take my place?
When the dogs of war are on the land
Who will take my place?
When you forfeit life to take a stand
Who will take my place?
When the dreamers fear the simplest thoughts
When the bloodshed takes all that you've got
When this world's an empty creaking floor
Who will take my place?
If they rule this land and silence me
When I'm laid out with injury
When my words won't matter anymore
Who will take my place?
Who will take my place?

Agreed.  Not played often enough in my opinion.
This is lovely, but I’m not 80 yet!

I had this at an 8. When I heard it come on I thought to myself, "Oh no. Not this again," and went to lower it's rating. But I started listening to lyrics and had to raise it to 9. This song could not be much more timely considering the world's current slide into global corporate fascism.

Amen.
Very nice! !
Yecch, puerile

Great album cover!   First time hearing this, I like it.  8 for now.

I really enjoyed this song, had never heard of the band before and thought it must be very new since I can't find the lyrics anywhere.  Someone here said it reminded them of kd lang and I have to agree.  She has that same clear no nonsense tone.  Love it.
Wow has it really been 6 years since this was last played?
Please play more of these guys - this song is good, but not representative of their sheer cajun/brazilian/bluegrass asskicking greatness.

Not painful, not particularly interesting either.
Agreed...I hear both Indigo and Wallin in there but nothing to write home about...neither is the spelling of the name or the picture of the album cover.
Like the song quite well. Love the cover.

Cool album cover. Looks like a DC-7.
Hmmmm, can we say Indigo Girls? Say, I rarely hear IG on RP...what gives?
I love this more each time I hear it.
I saw this band at Mountain Stage two or three years ago. Very talented.
"When the dogs of war are on the lamb"... cute.
Dunk this one.
Is there an Indigo Girl in there somewhere?
I'm hearing Nic Mehta of the Wailin' Jennies.
boring
Not painful, not particularly interesting either.
I was certain this was a KD Lang song at first. Jessee Harvey does an amazing impression of Lang, that's for sure.
YES! The Duhks. Great tune but there are so many better ones, play lots of Duhks!!!!!
