The first time I saw Kerry-Anne I knew would be the last
Skin, bone & silicone to all who dared to ask
She walked along the finest line of love and lonliness
You can see her as the sun goes down

She loved you in the morning, by noon you caught the train
A cheap return where homefires burn for a wife you gave no name
Be careful when you screw a friend, lies are hard to tame
You'll remember when the sun goes down

Hold me when the love takes too long to come around
I'll wait until the sun goes down

We hung upon her manner, bought the papers that she sold
She tried to laugh, go torn in half upon the centrefold
She said 'Cling to what you treasure and treasure what you hold.
How long before my sun goes down?'

Hold me when the love takes too long to come around
I'll wait until the sun goes down

She gave her last performance when they played her final chord
Morning song, oh hurry on and bring the last reward
Now every chair she sits upon is fashioned by the Lord
You can see them as the sun goes down

Hold me when the love takes too long to come around
I'll wait until the sun goes down

Hold me when the love takes too long to come around
I'll wait until the sun goes down

Funny a ho hum semi-lame weak sounding woman singing silicone in the first line is given a pass on RP from all the criticisms and comparisons with Who Is SHE Sounging Like/Lifting From. Given lots of 8s and mentions of being a skinny chick.

Odd throwback attitutdes, given how global and wise RP is otherwise. But the ability to HEAR the difference in women's voices is part of it.

And assertive women, too many ow ow ow!!!! Submissive women and fake tits, cozy, comfy, familiar, stamp of approval.

I went straight from here to Bandcamp to buy the album.  I prefer the album version to this but it's a great song.
This is how it's done.

After hearing it again I have given this an 8

Indeed...
I like this song more and more, each time I hear it.  Wish I could hear her in a live show.

The recorded version I'm finding online is a different tempo. I like this version better - is it off an import version or something?
Sad.

And yet you rated this only a 7? It's quite good, IMO, and if I'd heard her at a private concert in Catalan, I'd give her a huge boost! So you weren't much impressed, Prius?
Wow, how I love this! Dreamy Neil Young-style twangy guitar, vocals that remind me of Hem, Sara Harmer, Kathleen Edwards...Lovely!
Bumped from 7 to 8. It grows on you.

First time I've heard it and I listen almost daily. Nice tune, but I'm a sucker for sad chanteuses.

Alarming?  Every ten days or so is alarming?
Nice song.

Once every 10 days. (click the cover image top left of this post and it opens to show you the play count over 30 days)

Isn't it strange how different people perceive the frequency of tracks played at RP. Just goes to show how our brains can be fooled into thinking one thing when it is clearly another. . .

. . . just like main stream media and how it is used to change perceptions through propaganda.

:)

Check out her album (Plainsong), I considered it good enough to splash some cash on when it first came out. :-) https://www.susanenan.com/Index.aspx

It has an alternate take on SB&S which I prefer to the slower version played on RP... Unsure as to whether the RP version is a live recording or whether it's a single version. I should probably email her and ask. Or you can!

You might be right. I mean statistically that has to happen once in a while.

But Susan Enan is English and sounds English, so right or wrong your comment is irrelevant once again.
Silly con

Isn't that great! And at least 10% of them are wonderful, which makes us very lucky, indeed! (Actually, most are young women, however.)

I like this version played on radio paradise.  the version that can be found on spotify isn't as good though... :(

After quite a long time listening to both versions, I think I actually prefer the album version (on her album Plainsong - which is excellent, recommend it). The different tempo with different instrumentation still has a quite melancholy feel to it. Beginning to think Bill should put both in rotation...

I love this song, she could work on her pronunciation a bit though.

LOL
(JUST KIDDING Fred)
I don't know why, but this song makes me think of that lady who had a silicone injection to make her buttocks larger .. and died.  Honestly, I just can't imagine why .. but then again, I am not a woman.
Nice!
does anyone know if this version is still available?  she's redone the song on her new album.

beautiful voice.  Catchy title.
I wonder how much she is referring to her self... Susan Enan is one skinny girl.
She has a wonderful voice though, so I aim to listen to more of her stuff.

Let's start with a Seven.
"Skin, Bone, and Silicone" ... it seems Barbie was involved in a car crash {#Wink}

Curiously, I bought her album from Amie Street yesterday (great price, too!) but the version of this track on the album is different from this (has a faster tempo and more upbeat feel). It was on the Paste Music Sampler III.  I'm not sure if you could pick it up new but you might be able to find it used somewhere.

very nice. anybody know where i can find it to download? it's not on itunes, amazon, etc.

Saw this sweetheart live last night. She could not have been more enjoyable, genuine, humble and beautiful.

Sadly, she didn't have any CD's to sell there... but did say her album is almost done and will be available soon.

For her last song, she walked off stage and into the crowd completely unplugged with her acoustic guitar. The small crowd gathered around her for this special moment you rarely get to enjoy with an artist.

Thanks to RP for spinning this great song of hers. I would have never experienced that special night had I not heard of her here:)

Skin, Bone, and Silicone:  the supermodels' song! {#Wink}

Big fan of Susan's after seeing her live a few years ago. However, it has been tough to get her music, with only a single download song and a CD I purchased at the show. Keep playing....

I like this. Never heard of this artist before, but I'm going to check her out.

Hmm, "Susan"... Vega? {#Cheesygrin}
Here it would be good to follow the set with Heather Nova's Truth and Bone off of her Oyster CD. A great song.
beautifully sad

I would ask her not to stand so close to a heat source
