The album is much like this song, keeping in mind that some of the songs are in Mandarin and have something of an Asian feel. The two banjos lend themselves nicely to that kind of music.

I'll say not your typical banjo player, in fact, in this song you are not really hearing abigail. You are hearing her boyfriend Bela Fleck mostly. She plays clawhammer and he is the beautiful single string playing. It helps to know people in the biz when looking for a record deal.....
Not your typical banjo picker, Abigail Washburn is fluent in Mandarin. In fact, some of her compositions have Chinese lyrics and use Chinese musical modalities. The quartet is in Beijing now and Abigail is writing a blog for Paste magazine about the experience. The Sparrow Quartet will perform for the opening of the new American embassy in Beijing. In the photo below, they can be seen practicing their diplomatic decorum.
