Dark sky's here, no one's near
Except I think I feel you
Sun comes round, and no sound
Except the ringing blue
All too loud
Everywhere I go I look for you
Do you look for me where you go too?

Coldest day is here, skies are clear
Except your blinding constellation
Still you fall behind the west
Except this beating tune
in my chest
Everywhere I go I look for you
Do you look for me where you go too?

Tomorrow is here, I'm further near
Except this losing revelation
You are closer yet in my mind
They say the tardy fruit's
a fuller wine
Everywhere I go I look for you
Do you look for me where you are too?

This is Abigail Washburn playing with the sparrow quartet. Besides being a mean banjo player she also has the voice of an angel. If you ever get the chance to see her, DO.

The album is much like this song, keeping in mind that some of the songs are in Mandarin and have something of an Asian feel. The two banjos lend themselves nicely to that kind of music.

simply outstanding.  brava!

interesting... I shall take a closer look {#Cool}
Still awful, no matter how many times I hear it.  {#Puke}

Instead, it's a 0.9 {#Puke}

Also, maybe Bela thinks that if there are enough banjo notes per second, he can drown out his girlfriend's sucky singing and save her from embarrassment.  Hint: it's not working.

How is this song rated only 5.4?!

And you people claim to actually like music...
I'll say not your typical banjo player,  in fact, in this song you are not really hearing abigail.  You are hearing her boyfriend Bela Fleck mostly.  She plays clawhammer and he is the beautiful single string playing.  It helps to know people in the biz when looking for a record deal.....

Not your typical banjo picker, Abigail Washburn is fluent in Mandarin.  In fact, some of her compositions have Chinese lyrics and use Chinese musical modalities.  The quartet is in Beijing now and Abigail is writing a blog for Paste magazine about the experience.  The Sparrow Quartet will perform for the opening of the new American embassy in Beijing.  In the photo below, they can be seen practicing their diplomatic decorum.

On first listen, I like it too.
Vocals sound a bit like Liz Phair, from her Exile in Guysville days.

I'm down with superflyLD on this one. Simply horrendous.

Maybe its' all music written /composed by her, and she's directing the quartet to do her bidding. Musically , that is.

Or, maybe they got a record deal with a big company and they wanted to know "Which one's Pink?" {#Smile}

Apparently, the band itself is just Sparrow Quartet. The album itself is called Abigail Washburn & The Sparrow Quartet. Why that is, I cannot say. Oh, and Abigail is part of the quartet.

Also, what is the "D Word" that Bill would not say?

Here's a hint:

Wouldn't that be the "R word"?

I bet Wikipedia knows.

Horrid, I knew it had to be some Bella FLeck stuff mixed in. {#Puke}

Didn't know who this was, but right away I thought - must be Bela Fleck on Banjo. Sure 'nuff.

haha, I was just thinking the same thing, the singing is fine, but the music was devine on it's own.

Lowest. Rating.  Ever! {#Puke}

This would have been a 9, without the singing.
This is just plain lovely!

...just hearing this very quietly muffled in the background of a noisy office, my brain at first said joanna newsom...
