I can't consent with the previous commentators. Sure, this guy is not as good as the Dead were. But lets be honest - no cover could ever be as good as Jerry and his guys were.
That said I really think that the album by itself is quite good. I think that he captures the mood of the songs quite well and that you can hear that he honors the work of Jerry and Robert.
I'd even say that I'd like to see him on stage with Phil and his Friends one time. He would fit in quite well! (A thousand times better than this crybaby Osborne, that's for sure...)
I have to agree this just doesn't fit in so well with the RP mix. There's such a thing as too much variety when it comes to music.

For what he does it's fine, and I am thrilled that you value him enough as a friend to play his stuff. That said, this style of music is just not for me at all.
Lame.  Missing the funky fun of the original.  Reminds me of hee-haw.
Oh my god this sucks.
It's not even ironic or post-ironic or even post-post-retro-ironic. It's just crap.
i really don't get why it's being played on RP. AM radio in Kentucky, yes, between the phone-in for-sale ads, I'd understand and probably even would be moved to toot a little countermelody on the XXX jug of firewater that i keep behind the seat of my pickup truck... but this isn't AM, and I don't own a pickup truck.

Good Ol' Grateful.
I don't care for this cover. It's a little too peppy for me.

Oops, sorry Bill. I know he's a friend of yours. {#Lol}
