Another angel you trimmed but she don't seem to mind
The life in her eyes, it let you down
And she fell to the floor without making a sound
And look to the bed where she lay
And raise a glass to your ardor today
'Cause beauty and love you've never known
So you laid her down at the Chateau Marmont
Oh, Angelyne, oh, Angelyne
Well, now, you'll never know all the trouble I've seen
Yeah, and mercy she runs from your eyes
Well, they're blue but so cold that she can't sympathize
And suffer the bastards who paid
With their quiet indiscretions and promises made
Oh, Angelyne, oh, Angelyne
Well, now, you'll never know all the trouble I've seen
Well, now, you'll never know all the trouble I've seen
On your knees, your divine
Oh, an angel you tripped but she don't seem to mind
The life that we made let you down
And you fell to the floor without making a sound
Oh, Angelyne, oh, Angelyne
Well, now, you'll never know all the trouble I've seen
Oh, Angelyne, oh, Angelyne
Well, now you'll never know all the trouble I've seen
Well, now you'll never know all the trouble I've seen
You'll never know all the trouble I've seen
Another angel you trimmed but she don't seem to mind
The life in her eyes, it let you down

what's up with the lyrics to the left?
This would sound good just before - seven nation army - by the White stripes....

true... but let's get Angelyne added to RP! :)

Wow! A little Sisters of Mercy-thing, a bit of old Nick Cave-ish stuff, shades of Jerry Harrison, wonderfully snarling guitars, and truly haunting piano-scapes...YES
Seems pretty cool, and rocks a nice groove! When it gets to the chorus, I'm reminded of Jerry Harrison's post-Talking Heads solo stuff.
Another "made you look" moment for RP.. had to stop what I was doing to find out "who is that?" Thanks for the introduction, Bill!

Whoah, cool! Ian Moore! I got to open for him a few years ago. Nice guy, great guitar player.
foot's a tappin'
I'm seeing lyrics for a different Ian Moore song...

Sorry, the horn chorus makes this one for me.
"Civil Light" is another term for twilight. I'm sure you couldn't live another minute without knowing that.

Caroline is on Ian's most awesome album "Luminaria". It has a special place in my heart so I'm biased but it is really beautiful. If you like that song I urge you to seek the album out!

I mostly agree with you. That chorus section sounds like something from the 70s--Boomtown Rats or even ({#Stop}) The Bay City Rollers.
Sometimes it sounds like he's going to launch into a menacing version of Adam Ant's Desperate But Not Serious.  That's good enough for me to throw a seven its way.

Sounds like it has some Quicksilver Messanger Service in it...

Good stuff!  Different sound for Moore.  I like it.
I'm familiar with Ian from his first two CDs - blues rock, if I remember.

This is a different turn for him, but interesting.
'Kinell! That chorus with the horns sure blew the cobwebs away. 7 from the shaken Nottingham jury.
I like this, has a little of a Quicksilver Messenger Service feel to it...

I'd like to hear more from this guy. First time I hear him and liking this song.

like the album cover
Great sound. I'm enjoying this.
An average song for the moment, but nice.
