Happenin' fun rock and roll, but sounds like it was recorded in a blanket-lined closet.
Having fun

Bill - If we are going to play underheard bands from that era - please, please, please play some more Big Star.

Fuck Yeah! One of my favorite songs ever!

Started off well, but then the dire vocals kicked in and it was downhill from there. The cover looks like a promo shot for a cheesy 70s cop show like The Sweeney or The Professionals. All a bit Lock Stock and 'diamond geezer' and East End gangster....

The Power Pop guitars is what I'm after here.
I just love them!

"...the legendary-for-some-reason Flamin' Groovies." —BillG

That was really fun.  That echoy wailing guitar really caught my ear!
Sounds really like the sixtys!
Are you kiddin' me?!
I remember the early days of KROQ (the AM -only ones, no less) when the Rodney on the Roq was a dj and said, 'If there's one band you've GOT to go see, its the Flaming Groovies'.  So two nights later we went to the Roxy (or maybe the Whiskey) and, well, there they were.  Still haven't forgiven Rodney, and until tonight had managed to never hear the FGs again.
Thanks for the flashback Bill (I think)

Why am I having such a hard time liking this?  It sounds fake. I think it's the vox, cuz da gtrs r in da pocket.

{#Clap}
Cracker does a fine cover of this on their album Garage D'or.
I am pleasantly surprised to hear this here.  Great song.  I was just listening to their CD "Teenage Head" a few days ago.

This made my afternoon — much thanks...

They formed in the 60s, this album ca. 1976 or so was produced by Dave Edmunds and they were deliberately trying for that '65 feel again...

The carwash did it!!

What a great name for a band. Saw them open for Albert King and the Chambers Brothers at Winterland.
Here we go!!!
Some Power Pop!!!!!!!!!!

One of only two such songs on R. Paradise.
A rarity for sure.

Thanks Scott!!!!
Heck. I'll wash her car too!!!

What did I tell Rebecca I'd do if she added Shake Some Action?

post-research edit: I said I'd wash her car.
