Translation from lyricstranslate.com:

River Waters

Flowing waters of the river
See
These are the days of your life
The waters of your life
Washed in the current
That begins with the first rain

Flowing water of the river
See
These are the streams of water
That will reach an anguished desert
With the falling silence

Even if I drink the entire ocean
It will not quench my thirst
For another day close to you
For another day in your arms
Even if I sit under the sun
Her rays will not burn me
As my heart burns in the flames of your love

The song is really nice. And the lyrics are fantastic.
Unfortunately, antisemitism is hidden in ''low rate'' option, despite positive comments. Weird.
beautiful :)

i always think this is beautiful when it comes up.
SUPERB!   Boker Tov!  Thanx RP!
When I looked at the last comment I nodded in agreement... "yeah, I wonder about that too".  Then I realized it was me that wrote it.

When you stare into the comment abyss long enough, it looks back at you.
I'm curious if there is a sort of stereotype for Hebrew speakers who don't go for the gutteral "khh" sound.  Would they be criticized as a more cosmopolitan, Westernized speaker?

Focusing on work today (really!), but this new-to-me song filtered through to my consciousness.  Seems like Morcheeba's "Enjoy the Ride" would be a good companion piece.
The vocalist appears to be Anat Ben Hamo - lovely voice.

Nice tune but that "eekhhha iiikhhha" gets irritating, pierces my ears. Otherwise, refreshing and exotic.

A lot of comments say the same thing, that the hard kh is grating. It's so strange. This song is memorable to me because I especially enjoy those and the way they are made to sound (to my ears at least) delicate and melodious.

I love coming here and seeing all the comments about the funny language and I'm lying right now.

Haha.... this is interesting and funny of me to read.

I speak fluent Hebrew and when I hear this song I find nothing out of the ordinary in how she sings with the hard "kh" sound, as this is how Hebrew is spoken. Think of it as three incremental options used for different things: "sh", "ch", and "kh" - so no, I'm positive that she didn't chose to emphasize this.

On the other hand, when I hear German, Danish, or Dutch it sounds very hard to my ear because I, like you, am not used to their specific hard dialects.

So yeah,  I can relate why Hebrew is hard for you guys :). If you want to have a laugh from someone that emphasizes the hard dialects listen to Sacha Baron Cohen's "Erran Morrad" character, you'll have a great laugh, then this song will feel as smooth as silk for you

Please, More hebrew music! Thanks for playing this. so rare to hear stuff like this. :)
Nice tune and interesting to hear Hebrew in a pop song. Just don't hear it much here in the US. The band uses the edginess of the language well.
This language sounds so harsh to my ears! Kinda the same with Greek and Arabic.

I wonder if English sounds wimpy to native speakers of those languages?
Please keep politics to minimum. Anyone/everyone is doing politics. It is boring, tiresome and there is always another side to the issue. Spend more time in halls of Parliament and see that "Politics is a conversation that never ends"  The goal is not a conclusion, just more conversations... It's the same in every democracy. Only totalitarians have answers before conversations and reach final conclusions.

More music, much more music. Like, dislike, share impressions, share feelings, no politics, please.

Israel's on going settlement of the occupied West Bank may be the single biggest threat to western security.  Translation:  Americans have died and more will die.

But on the other hand, if that situation is going to be solved, the solution will come from Israelis and Americans Jews, many of whom are the most informative and most insightful critics of the situation.

I recall growing up in peaceful, affluent Ottawa in the late 1960s and early 1970s.  Canadians were 'good' and Americans were 'bad' because of the Vietnam War.  Then I started travelling the USA—first in a high school band exchange trip to Syracuse, NY—and discovered that there was the lively debate going on.  Many Americans were very well informed and highly critical of the involvement in Vietnam.

Within a few years, the US withdrew from Vietnam—largely due to the efforts and sometimes sacrifices of democratically engaged Americans.

A few years later, I travelled the Apartheid Republic of South Africa and discovered how American 'constructive engagement' was a key factor in overthrowing the Apartheid regime.

Let's stay engaged.

Once again:  more Israeli music please.

The election is deadlocked, according to the news reports........isn't democracy great when a distant third candidate determines who rules?
More good music and new artists... Now - How does one buy the physical CDs-?

I want the physical.  Not a fan of electronic files, philosophical hard-headedness.

Music is a language that precedes and supercedes religion, nations, and all the political posturing.

Music, love, dance are all human and speak the same to all of us. When the big lizards return, they're not gonna care about the politics of hairless, naked monkeys.  What we have in common is the only thing that will help us.

wow,i'm amazed, great song and great language (hebrew) :)

Thank you for posting sronis!  Why must people get political upon hearing this song?  I find this especially true since I am quite sure that a majority of posters giving this negative ratings, or worse, negative political comments, have yet to actually research the lyrics.  If you give a negative rating because you do not like the song, based upon its musical merits (or lack thereof, in your opinion), so be it.  But to hate because you have an issue with Israel, is, well, petty.

It seems like there is some powerful peer pressure going on . If a citizen can't express his feeling uncomfortable about his country's foriegn policy it hardly reflects well on his country's belief in democracy.

Thought I'd recognized Hebrew! Good see I can still pick it out. :)

The song was eh.
Had to come back to make sure I had given it a 1. Check.

But if we want to get into politics, why doesn't Israel learn to stand on its own feet instead of using lobbyists to draw American tax payer's dollars to prop them up.

Haunting, yes . . . and poignant, and comforting.  Amazing how much emotion a singer can convey even when the listener doesn't understand the words.

I don't speak a word of Hebrew, but I could listen to this all day.

Very nice. I bought the album after hearing it on RP, it's all good. Of course you have to have an open mind to accept something different (which we all don't seem to have...)

There are few pieces on this station that make me cringe...this is one of them. At best, this sounds like muzak.

I like this much better with the female vocalist.
you really have to hear a song in a foreign language to really understand the fact that most people in the world who listen to music really have no idea of what it means.. hmmm...
Lovely.
I used to be fluent in Hebrew. Pretty much the only thing I remember is sheket bivakasha which means, "quiet please." I talked A LOT in school when I was little.

It is terrifically sung. Y'know, the rest of y'all oughta get out of your occidental comfort zones (I mean really, lmic {#Puke}?!). Hebrew, an oriental language, has different pronunciation values. Eh, so what? It's a beautiful song.

Nice melody and production.  Maybe I'm in the minority here, but the "foreign" language (Hebrew?) doesn't bother me.
