Little piece of me you can't have
And I know that it's driving you mad
Little part inside you can't reach
I'm afraid that's the way it's gonna be

There's a part of you that wants to fight
But I never really had the appetite
I feel my feelings won't speak
Words that will be taken upon the breeze
The wind is always blowing

Pieces falling from me
You can have them for free
I've never felt so complete
Pieces falling from me

Though you try your best you ever fight
Little pieces that have left been behind
Last, last piece of the jigsaw
All the others scattered upon the floor

So you try to pick them all up
Little pieces falling in the dust
Little part of ash we don't need
So leave it to be taken upon the breeze
The wind is always blowing

Pieces falling from me
You can have them for free
I've never felt so complete
Pieces falling from me

All this background noise that has clouded never fell
It's half the reason why I left
Time to make another plan and never lie
There's a fine line what you want and what you need
Standing right there in between
Never been that kind of free, I've never lied to me

Ah, la, la, la, ah, la, la, la
Ah, la, la, la, ah, la

Pieces falling from me
You can have them for free
Never felt so complete
Never be what you need

Something missing from me
And I'll never compete
Never less than complete
Pieces falling from me

Even serendipitously. Of course you're right, but I'm drawn to symmetrical calendar events. In a couple of months we'll have 11/11/11 and 12/12/12 next year, and that will about do it for this century. Oh, I guess we can hang on 10/11/12 or 11/12/13, but they're not as much fun as the perfect—tho' entirely fabricated—confluences of our penchant for counting things and marking the passage of time.

Dear Mr. or Ms. Lizard,

I am similarly intrigued: summer solstice parties where we ceremoniously mark the shadow of my porch railing corner post and compare it with the mark from December 21's sunset.

Am eagerly looking forward to 11/12/13 (different days, depending on whether you ascribe to Euro/Asian notation or North American) and the North American-only similar date in 2014.  Will have to be satisfied with the second-tier coolness of 51515 and its cousins from thereon.
11!
Love this
ABSOLUTELY GODLIKE TO ME
I really like Ben's singing on everything I hear him do.

Can't wait to check them out (for my 1st time) in Atlanta.

Fantastic show in Chicago last week. And they did this number. Sounded great.

Now that we're digressing completely from the topic here (Little Pieces), I read that 11/11/11 was a special "corduroy day" for a group that celebrates all the dates with ones in them. (No kidding.) You can imagine they must have been orgasmic last November 11th!

Isn't every date once in a century, or even once at all to put it strictly? ;)

Mr. Lizard (may I call you Wonder?),

Normally, I quite enjoy reading your comments. However, the above-cited post has me quite flummoxed. What the freakin' hell does the date have to do with anything?

Um, nothing. Just seemed like fun.

Gives alarming new meaning to the expression "sitting on your thumbs"

Too loud, with not enough interesting melody, IMHO

That guy is just wrong, this is quite good {#Stupid}

You have nine thumbs? Interesting concept. I bet you can hitch a lift better than most.
Singer's voice is excellent and these guys have a lot of great songs. I've been listening to them for about 6 years, all thanks to hearing them on RP.
Good voice. All good. First time listen/instant fan.
Ehhhh... not interesting
I really like these guys. I like the singers voice.
Don't know quite what it is.
Seems very genuine,very different without seeming affected.

Totally agree, although this song grabs me first time listening...  {#Bananajam}
Today this reminded me a bit of the Goo Goo Dolls.

I'm liking this new Gomez
Dggin this particular track—like where it went.
Most of what this guy does I find original, effectively moving in some way
Gomez is becoming a fav band MeLike!

Airstream driver is a bit "pop" but the resta really grows on'ya

OK song....but this band just hasn't put out anything as great as their "In Our Gun" album....which was incredible.  Since then they have just been mediocre songs packaged in somewhat poppy formats.  I miss the old Gomez.
ya can always rely on good stuff from Gomez
Hey, a pretty good song from this album!

Missing old Gomez {#Cry}

I like what I've heard from these guys, though I hadn't heard much about them other than their band name, (which made me think of John Astin on the Addams Family) until I listened in here.  Well, that's part of the reason I tune in at RP, to hear different stuff.

Im just so glad to hear something else off this album other than that damned 'Airstream Driver'. {#Headache}

Perhaps you're not familar with the "new albums receive more airplay" construct. {#Doh}

gomez is definitely good.. i've loved them since 'bring it on'. but i just don't see gomez ever getting back the same combination of symmetry, quality, creativity and energy they once had. compare them to other bands and they're still great.. compare them to the former versions of themselves and there's a little left to be desired.
