Lyrics

I feel so helpless now, my guitar is not around
And I'm strugglin' with the xylophone to make these feelin's sound
And I'm rememberin' you singin' and bringin' you to life
It's rainin' out the window and today it looks like nightYou haven't written to me in a week I'm wonderin' why that is
Are you too nervous to be lovers-- friendships ruined with just one kiss
I watched you very closely I saw you look away
Your eyes are either gray or blue I'm never close enough to sayBut your sweatshirt says it all with the hood over your face
I can't keep starin' at your mouth without wonderin' how it tastes
I'm with another boy (he's asleep, I'm wide awake )
And he tried to win my heart, but its taken timeI know the shape of your hands because I watch em when you talk
And I know the shape of your body cause I watch it when you walk
And I want to know it all but I'm giving you the lead
So go on, go on and take it, don't fake it, shake itDon't second guess your feelin's you were right form the start
And I notice she's your lover, but she's nowhere near your heart
This city is for strangers, like the sky is for the stars
But I think its very dangerous if we do not take what's oursAnd I'm winnin' you with words because I have no other way
I want to look into your face without your eyes turnin' away
Last night I watched you sing because a person has to try
And I walked home in the rain because a person can not lie

It's so cute
Fricken hate this song
more lamo dreck.
1) ...that's a glockenspiel, not a xylophone...
2) ...that's a marimba, not a xylophone...

...as far as i can tell, and as far as my memory goes back at this particular moment, there's no xylophone in this song whatsoever...

She sounds like she would be one of those women that would be waifish and cute enough for me to scoop up em up and put em in the trunk without anyone noticing!{#Tongue}

What a bizarre serial killer kind of compliment.

The line "I can't keep staring at your mouth without wondering how it tastes" is primal, but works soooo so so so well.

7 -> 8 ..... -> 9......

I can't say I'd really like it if it were the first time I'd heard it by the first girl who'd sung it.

Sounds like she's taking lyric lessons from Ben Gibbard from Death Cab. Yeech.

Great sentiment, but just can't stand the cutesy affect in her voice.
Wow, so much like Regina Spektor that I had to look Jaymay up and see if it was a band that Regina was fronting. Nope. Jamie Seerman. Hard for me to like it right now, having been so confusticated. ;)
This song will so be in the next Bridget Jones flick. Just wait and see.
so sweet.
I wish she was singing about me!  Soooo pretty!

Wow, surprisingly awesome seggy from Leonard's "Tower of Song".... further evidence that this gal's got it goin' on.

Definitely Regina Spektor.  Sia, however, can really belt one out when she wants to.  Saw her live last year and she comes off nothing like her 'cute' recorded performance.

Despite my usual distaste for the waif mumble this one I like.  Go figure.

Agreed on Spektor. Sometimes I like Sia though. I wanted to hate Feist for the same reason for a long time, but in the end her music/melodies won me over.

Nothing new or compelling here. Another little girl speak-singing and acting cute. Makes me barf and turn into a feminazi.

A nice Sunday morning coffeehouse sort of tune...
What a nice little song. Fine!

Nice call... the "I'm falling for my friend" lyrics are very appropriate.

Huh... always wondered about that...

I was sure it was something new by Jenny Lewis.
Pretty ok, but nothing earthshaking. A 6 from me.

Shore sounds like Regina Spektor, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm betting she's into flowered dresses. Way boring in every way.
yeeech!

In which case, can we have some George Formby? ;-)

Shades of Lisa Loeb. Whatever happened to her anyway?

Yup, I thought it was Ingrid as well.

Ha, clever! It's in the same key as the Tower of Song by Cohen right before it! I really like RP's playlists, they are sometimes organized by some similarity which is not always easy to pinpoint
Ingrid Michaelson?
A sexy Feist?
