So we all are growing old and it's getting old
Pressure on our hollow bones and the varicose
Suddenly we decompose but we're not alone, we're home
So we all are growing old

Maybe we're sealed in silence
And maybe we feel a guidance
Maybe your own devices
Will keep you afraid and cold

But I memorized your smile lines when lips divide
Kept alive your childlike reaction time
We're allowed to expire with ourselves in mind
So we all are growing old

Put out the fear of silence
And put out the need for guidance
And put out your own devices
And don't be afraid of the cold

And we sing, we sing, we sing
We fight, we fight, we fight
And we cry, we cry, we cry
And we slide, we slide, we slide into delight

We sing, we fight, we cry
We slide, we slide, we slide into delight

Maybe we're sealed in silence
And maybe we feel a guidance
Maybe your own devices
Will keep you afraid and cold
Put out the fear of silence
And put out the need for guidance
Put out your own devices
Don't be afraid of the cold
Afraid of the cold, afraid over time
We've got nowhere to go but here

Love the way this builds and expands!
Best live performance by a band I've ever seen, and second place is not even close.

What happened? The tune started out hi fi and after about 20-30 seconds suddenly sounds like listening through a pillow. I'm listening on the flac stream. Anyone else get that?

Well, at least they didn't resort to using an tilde.

Oh hello chills down my spine. THAT'S where you got to.
Great sound!
For a brief shining moment this band appeared, hinted at greatness - a new take on 90's indie rock - and then sorta just faded away.  Or  at least that's how it was represented on my local sucky radio stations
I LIKE THIS ONE LOUD.
Wow! 8

Dunno, they could've whipped out the ol' "Full Stop".

Growing old is getting old, but the alternative is worse.  At least I'm not too old to love the song.  {#Yes}

Frequency of the guitar reminds me of early Edge.
Yeah, my knees get it.
Love these guys—-another RP find
This was an RP discovery for me and I bloody love it.

Satisfyingly bonkers in a Foo Fighters / Queens of the Stone Age percussively noise-some manner.

Love the drum beat that kicks in a couple minutes into the song.
Actually it's "growing old is getting old..."
They make lemonade out of lemons in old Bombay

One of my most important discoverys on RP throughout the years.... {#Bananajam}
Ugh.

But love the cover art - would go well in a Marriott hotel room.
They really get it
Haven't heard in ages. Great to hear. Keep laying them.

This is a good song, Romney notwithstanding.

Well, i'm here trying to share with everyone a a small private history, and i hope do not come to regret: since some time ago, i walked trolling involuntarily, in my head, an extract of a melody of any song. So far so good. The problem that disturbed me  -  i recognize almost instantly any song ever heard, recently or remotely in the past  -  is that could not in any way identify this song. And for anything admit it. No way. And so it was for more than a week, nor going forward, not going back.
Several days later, occasional and random, i put the "run" a few songs, and to my surprise, appeared that tune. And the mystery was unraveled. A simple story.
Ah, the song is called "Dots and Dashes".

Porcupine Tree? I think they don't sound a note like PT. Which, imho, is/was a far more sonically and conceptually exciting band.
What a great tune.....
the longer you listen to this the older you get - I does go on a bit if you don't like it much, next time psd

The Silverlake Hipsters.
For some reason I like this band
The last few bands were great. keep it up. and now the 80's? I love it!
Yeah no.
Amen to that.
I just wished it didn't pick up.
The first half is just amazing.  I Think I will do a loop and let it go on for a couple of hours.
Love everything these guys do! And gals...one kick ass female bass player!{#Bananajam}{#Drummer}{#Guitarist}

It's no 'Lazy Eye' but it's awright. Nice atmosphere and production. But it's getting old. Meanwhile there is brilliance out there that's not being aired...

Aaah, Silversun Pickups. They never fail to fulfill.
Once they get going, they get going.
Growing old is a lot better than the alternative, except to the very naive.  Yeah, I'm talking to you, Roger Daltrey.
From Smells Like Teel Spirit into this quality SSPU track, another quality segue.
Just got the record after hearing this on RP. And yeah, the whole album is pretty awesome and well worth the money. Highly recommended. The next one, "Neck of the woods" is quite different in pace and all the same very very likeable.

So what do you think Romney is...?

Maybe the wrong definition (according to what or whom) was used,

it is still not incorrect to call this "Republic Tiger" exactly that!

A society should not define itself through millionairs, but through the poorest!

AMERICA is on a very wrong way - that much is sure!

The better - not the best - choice is certainly OBAMA!

INCREDIBLE SONG AND BAND!
I WANT TO PLAY THIS SONG TO MY FUNERAL... PLEASE!

I was happy to hear that they issued a cease and desist order to the Romney campaign for violating their copyright.
Shame on Romney for not contacting them and at least trying to get permission.
Most artists don't want to be associated with right wing extremists, and I don't blame them.
Kudos to the Silversuns for stickin' it to the Man Who Would Be King.

Are you surprised that it happened at all??

Very, you take the risk of filling your hard drive with music.
positive sounding music, I dig it while studying the cover art abstract spill painting, which I really like and want to replicate, kingsize
My only regret when seeing them in an awesome concert a few weeks ago is that they did not play this song.  This is probably the song that "broke" them for me, right here on good ol' Radio Paradise.  KCRW had been playing them too, but not this song and Bill played it every few days eventually working its way into my brain, where it still remains.
I couldn't agree with the title of this track any more if I tried.

Yep. Agree. Period.
Very nice song... Only at the end a little to much...

Sweet vocals. Groovin' beat (when it kicks in later in the tune). Wicked, scratchy guitar. Nice!
I'm diggin' this.

Very good; another ode to Lush.
This song was paramount to our midlife crisis Kitewing video. See here.
This song is good as the name of the group. I love the name Silversun Pickups. It exudes bright and clean. That's how I see their sound. Maybe not much sense to anybody but me....
