I look like a loser coming from the gutter
Want to be a writer and be a key reader
Listen to my opera now I'm a good listener
Got to make my mind up so go around later
Hey hey hey
I'm a red rooster
A real cold killer, a real live wire
Switch it off and start again (x4)

I put on my white socks, flip flops
Put on white socks, flip flops

Minor complications turned to ultimatums
At first I find it funny but now it's just annoying
A dingalingaling, hum!
But that's another story
Sitting on my sofa, I'll go around later
Hey hey hey
A red red rooster
A real cold killer, a real live wire
Switch it off and start again (x4)

I put on my white socks, flip flops
Put on white socks, flip flops

Hey hey hey
Switch it off and start again (x4)

I put on my white socks, flip flops
Put on white socks, flip flops

I would find it MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE if I didn't know how insipid the lyrics were. {#Yes}
are they flip flop socks tho

Never really got into the pre-post-proto-ironic-neo-hippy thing. 2.
Sounds like Spirit from the '60's or Sugarloaf from the '70's trying to make a comeback

The drums on this, like the vocals, are incredible.

I like this.
super furry flip flops are my favorite so far
The song provides its own summary:

"At first I find it funny but now it's just annoying"

Actually, a big fad among the jr. high kids these days...white socks, flip flops
Suddenly I do remember the 60s!
switchin' it off...
PLEASE . . . no more Super Furry Animals!

Ha ha ...I had given this song a 2....must have been in a really bad mood...this is a cool song....bumped it up a bit.
Is it just me, or does the main riff sound like Stone's jumpin' Jack Flash?

I swear I hear a Weed Eater in the background!

this song gains a lot of meaning as i live currently in the Czech Republic and it's trendy to have socks with slippers and why not, flip flops?!
not to mention the white ennobles the whole outfit {#Wave} - see even smiley here wears'em

I like the retro keyboards. Fun bit of fluff.

Don't think I'll be buying this album any time soon.

Update: it's been upgraded to god-awful. A Hurricane Irene of Blech.

I know what you mean.  The vocals remind me a little of The Association (i.e. "Along Comes Mary").

These guys have a great sound. I like the self-aware start to the lyrics: "I look like a loser". But I bet he isn't a loser
Prince

Hey Hey Hey!!  A great song for a sunny summer day {#Sunny}
I'm glad Bill keeps this in the playlist despite its somewhat low-ish rating (5.9 at time of writing this). SFA are a great band and this is a grower, as is the whole album it's taken from. I have just re-discovered "Hey Venus" as well after not listening to it a lot when it came out. I really hope SFA will stay around for a while.

A bizarre album—there's this gem and an awful lot of stuff that's reminiscent of the self-indulgent hippie discs of the late '60s. Strong stomach and equally strong sense of the absurd required.

The kids liked it. The wife and I, not so much.

My thoughts excatly....it reminds me of radio around, 1967 or so.
If Radio Paradise played songs like this all the time, I'd have to find another station to listen to.   I mean, geez, it was bad enough as is - did they really have to go on and on about it?

I'm sorry if you liked it (and yes, that can be read two ways {#Wink})

Just listened to this yesterday while walking — great beat but I have to try hard not to lapse into a dance trance in the middle of the street!
I groove on that snarky guitar...never really checked out the name of the song until today...I looked down and I'm wearing fat white socks with my birkies and flannel pjayz...guess I fit right in

Interesting, I always thought about pink floyd when I heard that eerie analog line in War of the Worlds.
A really good musical by the way!

I've kicked it up to a 5 for now, but if you're going on feel and sound, it's generic and boring, which would push it down to a 3.

Saw these live in Manchester on Friday night - one of the most entertaining bands you will see!

Get songbook by them (basically a best of) if your new to them.
