The song is from the movie "Plodding Along" . . .
Some say Leland, others say lullaby. If the guy were walking at this pace he'd make zombies look like Olympic sprinters. A nailed-on Ho-Hum from the soporific Nottingham jury {#Sleep}
Bill. Please play some upbeat music. I can feel myself slipping into depression.

Don't worry, it won't hit him 'cause I'm right behind him. Blegh, I'm gonna go find some John Prine.

Yes, that's where the band name originates.

Must be sleepy-bye time.

And this dude has a recording contract.....why?

It reminds me of Ron Sexsmith as well.

Look under the Dictionary definition of noodlin'  and here you'll be......

This has put me in the mood for some Broken Social Scene. How 'bout it?

This is the Leland I remember ...
These guys could put JJ Cale to sleep. (but I like it)

This guy can't sing...anyone could strum a guitar and do this!
Feh - I'm sure I couldn't.

Quite nice.
I had to look and see who it was — I was thinking an acoustical Foo Fighters, granted the voice is off, but not by much... Very nice.
Nice subtle ambient background.
It's a little too upbeat and peppy.  The hardcore drum beats and thrash guitar licks will haunt me forever.
hang on a quick sec while i slit my wrists
There's a great restaurant in Leland called The Bluebird, I cant go up north without stopping in.  Cant say as I have ever heard music this good there, but it is still a nice place.
This is extremely nice.

But could anyone write the lyrics and tune? {#Ask}

I really like this.  It is about style and mood, to me.  And simplicity.  It creates a feeling and my heart responds.  :)

I like this very much.  It reminds me of some of the most recent stuff from THe Blue Nile.  8
And this melancholy afternoon, this is perfect.

downloaded this album the very moment it was available! {#Music}

What's the point? This is terrific, modern, American roots music. These guys are story tellers, they tell tales of longing, of hardship, and of strange characters that make up the American fabric.These are gorgeous songs, with sweet melodies but you have to listen closely.

Couldn't agree more ...
Though, not just American. Travellers, " tales of longing, of hardship, and of strange characters"  have no nationality. Their territories are roads, anywhere, everywhere.
This takes me elsewhere, listening to a story, building up a small personal movie with his voice and the words and the music.

Some say boring, but its beautiful, melodic simplicity moves me ...
Some say depressing.
Some say uninspiring.
Some say not their best song.
Just the other day, I said, "Leland". I guess it's true. Who knew?
Well, i like more  the other leland songs Bill plays! this one is to slow for me!
Wow...great song...my girlfriend and I both drifted off to it together, but still very much conscious of the song.  Phenomenal.

All that to play the same 4 notes over and over.  No wonder it's tough being a musician.

HOOOOOOOORIBLY BORING!
Who the hell has the guts to go public with such incredible BS...?

I write 10 such songs the minute - truthfully!!!!

NIGHTMARISH!!!! PAIN I.T.A.!!!

I love Leland. It's a great place to vacation in the summer!
it's uncanny the new songs rp are playin' these past weeks, especially this one which i sent to a couple dear friends when i got back home not long ago an' this is exactly how i felt, word for word almost, yea ok, bleak maybe but bloody brilliant, so who doesn't believe in serendipity, the paranormal..? someone out there in the world; bill an' rebecca, uploaders, some one or two or three listeners, we got the exact same 'vibe' happenin', whatever..? {#High-five} the whole album is brilliant!

Thanks for the info!  Really nice stuff.  I thought it was something rare from The Blue Nile at first.  It sounds similar to some of their acoustic stuff!

Very nice!.

I have to agree, this would make a great lullaby.

Not in the mood for slow, introspective stuff today.  But the lyric "I found myself lost" has promise - cutesy contradictive usage..  Perhaps I'll be in a more receptive mood next time ...

I turned the volume down to zero half way through this. It was making me sea sick.

A little like Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse) on, uh... {#Arrowd}

I left my Quaaludes back in the 70's...this song reminds me. {#Think}
would be a good song for a slow day, but not at all appropriate for a friday afternoon that i'm trying really hard to get through!!
this band is pretty new to the RP lineup
this doesn't work for me, nor does the song from them I heard the other day
it has surprisingly high rating, though...I must not be getting something

Check out their website. This is so good it's almost scary....if you know what I mean. Huge talent here, record companies are you listening? Give these guys some money, some time in a good studio, and a decent producer and watch out!
This is pretty much the dictionary definition of "Ho-Hum".
I find myself lost too.
tuning out...
Who are they?
Music for whales?
Sort of like having a massage without paying the $150.
Reminds me a bit of a Canadian band called The Skydiggers.

This has an M.Ward quality to it that I really like. . .

Yup, ya couldn't get much more laid back than this!
