I actually really enjoyed the orchestral arrangement of that Chris Martin song.  Something tells me he'd appreciate that too.  Remember people that arranging a song like that for a full orchestra is an almost unfathomable amount of work.  The results, in my opinion, are great!  As a songwriter I can't imagine that C.M. would feel anything other that complete awe at the treatment the Prague Philharmonic gave his funny little tune...  :-)

Even without the hate, I don't see the point (of the arrangement, of playing it here...). There is much we could all learn about music we may not listen to normally (e.g. orchestral/classical music), and this is not helping us!
I enjoyed the segue and this piece as a nice something different.  It's quite lovely in its way.  {#Angel}
The music they play in sappy movies.

'A lot' is two words.
Oh I think we need to hear BIg Cat after this. I suddenly found myself in the DMV elevator for a moment.

C'mon, BillG, even Mari rated this a one. I think that means it's got to go!
Q:  What did Kenny G say as he stepped off of the elevator?

A:  This place rocks!

(Actually, this is a decent song.)

Is this supposed to be a joke? Once was funny. Twice was pathetic.

What color was this elevator again?    Going down...like my rating.
OK, but how 'bout some good 20th century music like

Sibelius?

Cool people hate Coldplay. I'm so glad I'm not a cool person.

Four thumbs down. Actually, I'm with them. Make it five.
Grover: Oh, I've been to Prague. Well, I haven't "been to Prague" been to Prague, but I know that thing, that, "Stop shaving your armpits, read the Unbearable Lightness of Being, date a sculptor, now I know how bad American coffee is thing... "
Jane: They have good beer there.
Grover: "... now I know how bad American beer is thing."

Kicking and Screaming, 1995
terrible cover of a terrible song.
What a waste of talent...
I much prefer the song this way. I can't get into Coldplay otherwise, and even then it's only a 6 for me. *shrugs*

fabulous take on a chris martin coldplay tune. We have no coldlplay in our music collection. Maybe now's the time to get some coldplay...and this beautiful rendition as well.
That was pretty mushy wasn't it?
yeah why does this arrangement sound like film score?

Today, my first thought about this song was - this is interesting...

Not bad... I think I am crying... wait.. no I am not... {#Ask}

I second that opinion.

OK, it is eclectic, so it fits on RP — but these experiments only work if the original song is unknown to the listener, better yet if old and forgettable, or if the arrangement turns the tune completely inside-out  (think of honeysuckle rose and Bird) ....

It's quite an achievement to make Coldplay sound good.

just check out the rest of this album...{#Puke}
Unnecessary.
Coldplay are already Muzak, this needn't have been done ... shouldn't have been done.

Count the votes, Bill, and spare us.

dear lord, put an end to this! I love philharmonic orchestras, and I love Coldplay, but sounds like it's coming straight from a cheesy coffee creamer commercial with italian backdrop...
Okay, I like coldplay. But seriously - a MUZAK version of Yellow? DO NOT WANT!

Wow, without Chris Martin, this is a good song. {#Lol}
I simply cannot decide whether or not I like this...
Wow, this is a very nice arrangement.
i'm all for the strings.... but this is really bad.
Why?  Why oh why?  Coldplay is bad enough but now we've got to be tortured by this?
Well, I have always said I'd prefer Coldplay instrumentals...

There is something to be said for the odd and unexpected.  So....Cool.   Here's to the unexpected.
But if I ever expect to hear this on RP, I will also expect to listen to another station.

Holy crap....have we enetred the geriatric stage of RP.....nauseating .....
Beautiful!
Just got chills!
Honey, the movie is about to start!
Dripping with teh awesome.
VERY nice.
Damn! This actually works.

...very nice - i didn't even realise this was a pop song, and that's the hallmark of a successful orchestral arrangement...
