When you move in right up close to me
That's when I get the shakes all over me

Quivers down my backbone
I got the shakes down my knee bone
Yeah the tremors in my thigh bone
Shakin' all over

Just the way that you say goodnight to me
Brings that feelin' on inside of me

Quivers down the backbone
I got the shivers down the thigh bone
Yeah the tremors in my back bone
Shakin' all over

Quivers down my backbone
Yeah the shakes in my knee bone
I got the tremors in my thigh bone
Shakin' all over

Well, you make me shake and I like it, baby
You make me shake and I like it, baby
Well, shake, shake, shake
Shake, shake
Shake, shake, shake
Shake, shake, shake

Yah Babay!!
If she's ever playing in your area see her!  Her guitarist Jerry is the best.

Ever heard the Guess Who's version? That's the one I prefer.

Pretty... But this song ain't supposed to be pretty!

Sounds like a 8th grader on a podium at a village fair... Cute but not going well with the lyrics & spirit of the song!

Agreed, sounds like sleeping all over. See www.D-16.org
Another vote for the Wanda Jackson/Jack White version
vocals are lacking the lust required to nail these lyrics
Saw her a couple of years ago and was underwhelmed, but I am quite liking this track.
edit: on later listens, still underwhelmed.

Or pulp fiction...
Van the Man did great cover of this on his live in SF CD.

I would bet Karen O of Yeah yeah yeahs listened to this a lot growing up...
Surf music done as a torch song. Nice.
I haven't seen it lately, but T-Mobile with the gal on the pink motorcycle{#Motor} was using the title track from this CD. Over and over as I heard the smooth guitar and vocals I had to research it. And sure enough Eilen...  Too bad Bill's not playing it here...{#Cry}

What fresh approach? Speed, vocal and guitar are almost identical.

couldn't agree more, at least from what I've heard hear on the RP Radio!  Had to buy this for lots of reasons.  Music being at the top of the list.

Uploaded, sorried. BTW.

I have a thin-sounding crappy MP3 bootleg of the Jet Black Berries doing it too. That's my favorite.  At least the version as heard on vinyl some years ago

I love Eilen and Jay and the boys! They have some great new stuff out too. Queen of the Minor Key!

Spot on! It just sounds too "clean". A bit like an aunt singing it at a family do.
An aunt with a great voice, sure. But Wanda Jackson has the bad-girl cred, and that patented 'quiver' in her voice, to put her performance head and shoulders above all the rest.

Great tune: that guitar lick is iconic. Eilen Jewell does a great job, but after seeing Ms. Jackson rip into it, it seems like Ms. Jewell's version is too clean.

Definitely have to shake to another (any other) version of this one

I would love to hear what I think was the original version by Johnny Kid and the Pirates. Duane Eddy is a great follow up! The Humble Pie Rockin the Filmore version of I Don't Need No Doctor or Hallelujah would also be great....just sayin' {#Drummer} {#Bananapiano}
Half-listening I thought this sounded familiar!  We just saw Eilen at the Johnstown, PA music festival in August 2010.  She puts on a great show, is very personable and very talented.  Had a great time.  If you have  the chance, check 'em out. You won't regret it.

I do. It's Shakin' all over, not Slurrin' all over.

Yes, shake it!
Love the "I don't give a ___ approach".
She sounds like a dirty Doris Day.

A tie with the Beatles version.
3 - Ho Hum is the perfect rating and comment. As a previous commenter said, she doesn't get this song at all.
I never got the fuss about the Who version (despite being a Who fan), but this is good
I still like the Guess Who version best...
Her rendition does not convince me that she is shaking all over.
I wish Jimbo Morrison had covered this one.
Her vocals in this make it clear that she doesn't understand what this song is saying. {#Rolleyes}
An admirable cover.
Just saw her in Raleigh a couple weeks ago.  Her guitarist (Jerry Miller) was so amazing to watch (and hear)  No youngster by any means, but man can he rock!
The laid back feeling makes me shake all over. #7

There's always a better version.

Like the way she sing here. Does not bore me!

Same for me. The instrumental part is good but the vocals?? The delivery is incongruous with the lyrics. Shivers and shakes? She sings it like "Oh, by the way, you really turn me on. Pass me the remote."

That was my reaction to it!  You expressed it better than I did though.
Love Eilen! Thanks. Great live.
Peggy Lee.
Is That All There Is?

Same exaggerated restraint and understatement.  Brilliant.
just like vince taylor...

Don't care for it. I guess I'm too used to The Who's version. THAT one had some emotion.
This is too {#Sleep}.

Actually the original was by a group called Johnny Kidd and the Pirates.  The first hit in the US was by the Guess Who.  Then the Who did it at Leeds.

Check Adam and the Ants.
Once again the Blue Hawaiians do this so much better.

Jockey Full of Bourbon - Blue Hawaiians
Sway - Blue Hawaiians
Shakin' All Over - Blue Hawaiians

Been WAITING patiently to hear this again!  LOVE the guitar and beat!!
I like that surf guitar work
Rockin' song, but I'm not much interested in the singer's musculoskeletal difficulties.

Yes ma'am. Shaking all over. Nice version of The Who's original. So what's not to like. I'm actually happy she's doing her own thing on this one, if you want The Who, great, go listen to that version, otherwise enjoy Eilen "layed" back version, so cool.

Really good rendition of the original. Of course, nothing beats The Who Live at Leeds, but this is an excellent pre-Who characterization.

I agree, she does sound bored.  The song sounds like an anthem to casual sex - thus the boredom!  :)

I love this song, but Eilen Jewell sounds bored.  The guitar riff could use some more dirt, too.

On the cusp of an 8. I've had the same feeling. Melting....Nice cover.
Vince Taylor singing this on youtube—-really worth checking out!
Prefer..."The Guess Who" rendition, but I was a teen in the 60's {#Kiss}

I like it, sexy.

Leeds does that to you - just look at how Leeds FC fans behave...

Reminds me of Suzie Quatro days.
She sure phoned that one in. Sounded like she read it cold and moved on to her next opus.
Pales in comparison to the two versions I'm familiar with: The Who and the Guess Who.  Never thought of this before but did the Who do it in response to the question implied in the first group's name?
Somehow had to think in Detroit Cobras. Less aggressive, though.

But I have to hand it to Eilen Jewell - this is a good cover.

this is good, I DID have it already!!
The Blue Hawaiians do this sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better on their Savage Night CD.
Still prefer the Guess Who's version!
Heard this at the coffeeshop —-wanted to sing louder but too many people around. I think I might have this album.

The Guess Who also had a big hit (their first I believe) with this tune. Randy Bachman spent some time on his radio program, 'Vinyl Tap', talking about the original and the Guess Who version. Very interesting stuff....well for me it was, LOL. I like this version too.                                             glassman, you beat me to it {#Arrowd} {#High-five}

Van Morrison has a great bluesy live version of this on A Night in San Francisco which blends into a great version of Gloria
Not bad, I go for the Guess Who version, about '64.

She's good this girl, great voice and a decent version of a classic WHO. Like it.
I like it...Thought it was Southern Culture on the Skids at first.
