Lions always hit the heights
'Cause to kill it's always been
An easy way out
Lions always hit the heights
'Cause to kill it's always been
An easy way out

After a couple of drinks I think straight
Tears of joy sort the little girl out
Something you always wanted

And Curvey Lorraine always
Leads the way,
Admitting her love, it drips and drips
Something you always wanted
Gini, Gini, look at me, Gini
I let the stare that tries to cripple you
Slide down my back
Gini, Gini, speak to me, Gini,
I let the words they shove in front of you
Crawl right back

Lions always hit the heights
'Cause to kill it's always been
An easy way out
Lions always hit the heights
'Cause to kill it's always been
An easy way out

'Cause we take this world by storm
We don't look back
Let the stare that tries to cripple you
Slide down my back
'Cause the wheels keep us far apart
We can't look back
Let the words they shove in front of you
Crawl right back

Lions always hit the heights
'Cause to kill, it's always been an easy way out
Lions always hit the heights
'Cause to kill, it's always been an easy way out

absolutely. so dull.

You wanna-be music critics need to get out more and explore.  Mostly put things in perspective with when the music came out!!! Ding-bats
Yay for Tones on Tail here on RP!!!

Very annoying and boring
Daniel Ash provided me with all my 80's alternative bona fides...anything he touched lent a credibility to my eye-liner and custom jean jacket...
I think the Casiotone player needs to learn another note.

Hey @William, how about "Go!" from Tones on Tail? Can we please get that?

Really Bill? Just a band that got lost in the shuffle of the 80s? No mention of how this was became of Bauhaus after Peter Murphy's exit? and how it then transformed into Love and Rockets?  You make them sound like some One-Almost-Hit-Wonder.

Apologies for my ignorance at the time. Right you are.
Yet another person who noticed the appropriate transition from “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream Pt. 2” by My Morning Jacket... Well done Bill!
Brings back some memories... waiting for my buddy to blow dry his mowhawk bending over upside down before we could go to the bar.
Perfect segue from My Morning Jacket - Touch Me I'm Going to Scream
Curious exactly how they did the panning on the synth in 1984 ... ping-pong delay, or automation?  Either way, probably a lot different than it would be done today.
As I was listening to this song, the following text appeared in something I was translating:

Hic sunt leones - here be lions.

Talk about synchronicity.

Those echoes must be going in reverse, this song is over 20 years older than that MMJ song.
Pairing this with My Morning Jacket is like paring wine with chocolate. Just ... delish.
This song is Coooooooool Biscuitssss

Yup - exact same synth riff.  The head-space on this song is remarkable.  Good headphone song.

Cool stuff SmackDaddy! (lots of spanking, guess some folks dig viewing that discipline-smacking : I

Brilliant playlist programming in combination with My Morning Jacket's Touch Me I'm Go! Love how you used the synths to merge the songs.
{#Arrowd} "lost in the shuffle" {#Lol}  Good one Bill!
Unexpected treat on a Monday afternoon. Didn't see this one coming. Thanks for the brilliant flashback, Bill! You continue to surprise and inspire me with your taste and deep collection of music!
BILL!!!!   There's some kind of corruption on this particular rotational queue.  The last time this song list played, it kept glitch in and restarting with this this song.   Well that was two or maybe 3 weeks ago, and on a completely different phone too.   We'll it's happening again.   Maybe it's some issue with the script that is only affecting the android app, and that's why you're not picking up on it at the studio.  But whatever it is,  it's killing me man!   :-P

I grow more fond of Bill by the day. Is there a limit?
not bad!!
I see a lot of folks have good memories of this tune.
I find it repetitive and not terribly interesting.
I Willy a'int happy a'int nobody happy.

Have ya checked yer lugs, Groundskeeper Willie

Groundskeeper Willie from the Simpsons replacing Vincent Van Gogh in a painted self-portrait

I had a lot of fun looking at Scottish slang to do this post, Willie. (What's the slang word for "damaged"? "Mucked up"?) I laughed my ass off at this entry:

Gettin' aff at Paisley:  Coitus interruptus. Paisley Gilmour Street is the penultimate station on many train routes from the Clyde coast.

Love it Bill - fantastic segue from My Morning Jacket!  This is one Classic tune - great 80's memories!

Don’t like the stereo bouncing between the speakers. Its the audio equivalent of going on a rollercoaster, I can tolerate it but it makes me uncomfortable (probably just my age).

aaah... that was sweet, a little time machine action.
Thanks Bill!
Just what the doctor ordered.....

Great tune- brings back many memories! Quality 80s music.
Like it.
I think I see where I Monster got their sound.

quite nice... but it´s not that my morning jacket stole from them. it´s Tones on Tail (which, i must say, up to now were completely unknown to me) stole the whole song from Pink Floyd.
the whole song is more or less a cover version of Pink Floyd´s song "Cirrus Minor", maybe with some other PF tunes mixed in.
i must admit that Tomes on Tail are doing a very clever job "disguising" the fact that they are using an existing song for this. of course, it sounds very different from the original.
wonder if they credited the whole thing on their record...

Tones on Tail, Love & Rockets etc "borrowed" very heavily from songs from the 60s & 70s for several of their songs. Like you say, essentially reworking earlier recordings. I actually used to have a list somewhere for when I wanted to do some easy segues...
Nice nostalgic moment hearing this one again! You guys never cease to amaze me. Thanks
I'll save it no more time ,THANK YOU RP
quite the surprise to hear this on RP ..thanks Bill
BRAVO!!!  Love this tune, many college memories with this band...and Bauhaus and Love & Rockets too of course!

i LOVE all these guys in ALL their incarnations -  brings back memories... thanks bill !!

Me too I thought it was re-mix - wonder if it was an influence on MMJ?

Sorry, I definitely hear it too.

Sweet!  Love Tones on Tail — and silly me I never realized they had a whole album of material besides "Go!" (which I have loved to death).
{#Roflol}
Fantastic Album!  Buy it if you don't have it.  I love Bauhaus and Love and Rockets but Tones on Tail had it all.  Try getting a big box radio station to play this song.  Thanks RP.

{#Iamwithstupid} Nice call, pjb.

One of these bands I keep forgetting about, that I'd probably like to hear again. Good call on this one.

Also like to hear some Dali's Car and Japan, now that I'm thinking about it, or how about some Jazz Butcher.

Wow - Tones on Tail on Radio Paradise... Worlds collide!
Never heard this before... hmm
Time to go dig out more of my old vinyl, that album is great!
I love ToT!
