Don't wanna see the stars
Don't wanna see the moon
Don't wanna see the sun
That rises up too soon

Don't wanna see the day
Don't wanna see the night
Oh the afternoon it feels about right

I am a spaceman flying high
I am the astronaut in the sky
Don't worry, I'm ok now
I am the light in the dark
I am the march
I am the spark
Don't worry, I'm ok now

After the sun always comes the rain
Followed by hurt and pain
After the light comes the dark
After the love comes the breaking of my heart

I am a spaceman flying high
I am the astronaut in the sky
Don't worry, I'm ok now
I am the light in the dark
I am the march
I am the spark
Don't worry I'm ok now

I am a spaceman flying high
I am the astronaut in the sky
Don't worry, I'm ok now
I am the light in the dark
I am the march
I am the spark
Don't worry I'm ok now

Just dry your tears and I'll be there
Don't leave for anger or despair
Don't worry, I'm ok, I'm ok now

Sure is a lot of sexist shite in comments about women artists, which Bill and Rebecca thankfully play, rather than ignore.

This song was "quite likable" in every way: unique enough, interesting lyric enough, distinct voice enough to NOT be generic.

So much other marginal or pure crap songs get a pass here (sexism is everywhere, even RP) but women — AS EVER — have to twice as good, twice as hardworking, twice as dedicated as any lame man to get some R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Feh.

Next time, not so predictable, eh? Don't make it so obvious you're crapping on her because she's female, aight?

I actually see it as 2 completely different things. I love a lot of women's music and dislike a lot. Some of the artists that I dislike are attractive and some that I love are not very attractive and vice versa. I make comments about the music and their appearance good and bad, but that does not make me sexist. Just as attractive male artists have a tougher time getting their music appreciated because of their good looks (Pete Yorn is a good example), I see that too. Especially in popular music where an important component is the artist looks as to whether they get signed or not, shallow music, shallow approach, that is commercial music and why I don't follow it.{#No}

Yea, that is pretty much how I hear it.
I hear a new voice with echos of Shakira
Exciting!

I shouldn't credit you by responding, but I'm in a mood...
BULLSHIT.
I don't particularly like this song, but her voice and her emotion, compel me to.
So, I do.

Amy is a breath of fresh air.  If you listen to both of her CD's in their entirey, you will realize that she is very talented and is backed by a very energetic band.  I await her American tour.
A friend brought me an Amy MacDonald CD from Europe and although I had heard an occasional song here, I did not know her music. It is difficult to understand the negative commentary here. She has obvious talent and an accent that adds a lot to the effect. From time to time a musician comes along who may not break completely new ground but who is the real thing. Maybe not being in Europe and over-exposed makes it easier to hear her music from a fresh perspective, but this is genuine and I find it immensely likable.
Reminds me of hot nights full of crickets.  Gotta have it.

ETA:  Unfortunately the only version one can buy online is the Karaoke version.  wtf.
Very distinctive.
Really not enjoyable.  Sounds too much like Shakira.  Really ruining this minute in my day. haha

TV is flooded with AM commercials over here. And I simply just don't get it. She sings as though a potato is stuck in her throat while the music is mediocre run-off-the-mill ****.
I think this is a classic case of someone getting a record deal based on looks and not talent. Pretty generic stuff I've heard from her so far.
9 for the eyes. 3 for the song. . . no more than 6 then.

Its a bit too plastic for me. . . I can't place what I don't like, its like a commercial - too slick no substance - and ideal to say 'Meh' to.

Sorry.

this does nothing for me

Yes, Linda Perry.  Wish she still sang, but she exclusively produces now.

Very good.  Her first CD was also very good.  Love the voice with the slight Scottish accent.
She may be cute... but she is not talented (IMO)... 3 of 10... If I hear it much more it will be a 1.
Plastic.   I agree about the drums.  I usually like Amy a lot to.   3.
Amy rules.  And are you kidding me with those eyes?  Man!  What a look! {#Bananajam}
I thought it was the Yeah yeah yeahs when it first came on.
7>8 on the second listen.

I like Amy Mac.
Dump the drum machine and get a real drummer . . .
Hey nice my upload {#Clap} ... and I can recommend the whole album.

I like.
Au contraire.  Beautiful voice, full of passion.  Imagined her looking like Lucinda Williams. I don't rate songs based on looks, so 7.

Awfully plastic and uncreative sounding orchestration + beautiful cover picture + good voice = 4 at max.
First! first!! Nice song by the way!!
