Oh naïve little me,
Asking what things you have seen,
And you're vulnerable in your head,
You'll scream and you'll wail 'till you're dead.

Creatures veiled by night,
Following things that aren't right,
And they're tired and they need to be led,
But you'll scream and wail 'till you're dead.

But give me to a rambling man,
Let it always be known that I was who I am.

Beaten battered cold,
My children will live just to grow old,
But if I sit here and weep,
I'll be blown over by the slightest of breeze,
And the weak need to be led,
And the tender are carried to their bed,
And It's a cold and pale affair,
And I'll be dammed if I'll be found there.

But give me to a rambling man,
Let it always be known that I was who I am.

It's funny that the First chords that you come to,
Are the minor notes that come to serenade you,
And it's hard to accept yourself as someone, you don't desire,
As someone you don't want to be.

Oh give me to a rambling man,
Let it always be known that I was who I am,
Oh give me to the rambling man,
Let it always be known that I was who I am.

She is wonderful, but isn't that Leslie Feist on the cover?
Dicky Betts should sue!
Wow, that was a great song!

dayum I <3 RP.  Soooo much great talent out there.
My kids are huge fans of this talent, they dragged me in with them.
Try out her newer album: "Semper Femina" and particularly "Soothing".
Note the understated banjo part.  Leave it to her, and the Mumford crowd, and others, for that matter, from the east side of the pond, to make consistent use of the instrument that only had a home in Bluegrass after the Country/Western scene banished it.  Well, Bela Fleck did more than just Bluegrass.

Anyway, this gal is talented.  Can write AND sing so well.

a real talent, this one

Well said.  I completely agree.

As do I .... and I'll be getting this one, too.
I can even accept the Mumfordisms when she's the one delivering the vocals.
great young talent

It's something you still have your PC gets infected to the point of unusability.

Two excellent points, and heartily I agree with both:

1)  RP encourages me to buy new music (take THAT, you idiots at  RIAA), which I buy through RP links, and

2)  RP is revolutionary while respecting the long lineage of rock and roll.

PS:  This song is an easy 9.  Her voice is fab.

A silouette like Leslie Feist. The music sounds in some moments like Joni Mitchel. I like it!!{#Dance}
She's the new Joni Mitchell...NOT !!!
Maybe the new Alanis Morriset or whatever her name was....

Right on SOB! She has depth and superb voice
Such debth, she would have been right at home in the early 70's with that group of ultra-talented women
such as Carole King, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins and others. Let her star shine bright !
The warm taste of a young Joni Mitchell are part of the palette of this fine young work.

How was it?  She sounds marvelous here ....
This is exceptional.  Outstanding. 10

BMI?  As in broadcasting royalties?  (It's a bit embarrassing to admit I couldn't figure this out after an entire song of trying.)

edit a few minutes later:  BMI = Body Mass Index.  Thank you UrbanDictionary-dot-com.  I'll skip the entire "women and their body image" discussion.
and that other Canuck folk songbird, Joni.
interesting with just a hint of Jane Siberry ...whom i adore
1.5

Really fine lyrics and instrumentals for such a young artist, welcome more of Laura's songs on Radio Paradise, thank you.

I understand that she writes all her own songs.

One of the my favorite songs
I am in love.
{#Heartkiss}
I love how she reminds me of Joni Mitchell!
I like this song a lot.

This song is much better live and I gave it a 9.

ok, i am feeling uninformed here, but wasn't Ramblin Man on Brothers and Sisters?

Yes, sleeve pictured must have been an EP or some such.
I like the Steve Martin version off of "let's get small" better.
Interesting - her voice is a combination of Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake with a slight catch and twang thrown in.  I like.  Thanks RP and company!

happy to see her here :)

To me, the strong Joni resemblance is in the construction of the song, the minor chords, the delivery, and the guitar strumming, Her voice is quite unlike Joni's.
Her new album is really good too.

So .... I guess this ISN'T an Allman Brothers cover.

; )) !! - KCAR
When the voice gets higher its a litle bit like JONI!

Hmm.. I am pretty open-minded with tunes.. This isn't bad..It sounds like alchemists concoction of Wailing Jennys (good) and Mumford and Sons (not so good)..    Can't really get behind this.  But credit to Bill for bringing in the randomness of the musical universe.

I urge everyone to go see her live. Her voice is astonishing. She deserves all the success coming to her.

She doesn't seem to stray far from the castles and crop circles of the English countryside, though I expect there are plenty of RP fans who can make that trip.  Unfortunately I'm out of luck as I expect her presence won't grace a cheesy Atlanta concert hall anytime soon.

There's not enough spine-tingling music around nowadays, but this does it for me.
Hey, joni was a great songwriter; but a so-so musician. EVERYBODY does joni songs better than joni.

She better give Joni some money for stealing her tune

What tune is she stealing? The chorus does sound rather familiar...
vocals and vocal content are only a small part of music. Where is the rest of music.

Is this narcolepsy evening? This is the third three on the trot, and as deserving of a Ho-Hum as anything I've heard on RP. A few more notes would be nice, Laura... {#Sleep}
