First light tonight,
First light tomorrow,
First light this morning,
First light this evening,
First light tonight.

Been looking back,
Down through the ages;
First I was an ancient,
Then I was an infant,
Now I am alive.

Been holdin' out,
Searchin' for something,
Something to carry
Me over the sunset,
To dawn's early lights.

First light tonight,
First light tomorrow,
First light this evening,
First light this morning,
First light tonight.

Then I found it
I did it, finally oh
My search it was over
I prayed till was gone
My all in light
I been there...

Still holdin' on

First light tonight,
First light tomorrow,
First light this morning,
First light this evening,
First light tonight.

First light tonight,
First light tomorrow,
First light this evening,
First light this morning,
First light tonight.

Dang, this is not good.
Quite the variety of styles on this album. I like every song I've heard from it so far.
This is interesting. I'm reminded of Buddy Holly, actually - if Buddy Holly used screaming electric guitars.
This is awsm.

Don't know what to make of this.

Man, what happened to MMJ? I liked them before...  This is really not their best work. It's as if this song wants to be a bit 70's retro, however I find it is uninteresting to listen to.  :-|

Same goes for the "Outta My System" track from this album....

Totally agree
Was not tapping my foot to this one.
This is My Morning Jacket? Wow...different.
That's just a great damn tune!

Thanks for the mention Bill!
What's not to like about MMJ? These guys have it all; talent, great influences, and a complete disregard for personal hygiene.
Great, love it.

This has got a standard 1-4-5 progression, and the rhythm is also a standard beat...  but the melody and the lyrics are interesting...  I have not rated this song yet...  I will hold out to hear it more...  see if it sticks in my head...

10 ?

First time I've heard this.  Beatlesque ... Taxman anyone?  I like it.

Saw them last week at the Santa Barbara County Bowl. Great show. Each song they did seemed to build off of the previous. By the time the show was over I was worn out.

Definitely go if they come to your area. They put on a great show.

Young hipsters try to sound like their grandparents.
well i guess i'm officially old.  this just sounds like unpleasant noise to me. :(
Cover looks like the Martin fighting machine from George Pal's  1950's 'War of The Worlds' movie.
