Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away, I will always love you
However long I stay, I will always love you
Whatever words I say, I will always love you
I will always love you

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away, I will always love you
However long I stay, I will always love you
Whatever words I say, I will always love you
I will always love you

However far away, I will always love you
However long I stay, I will always love you
Whatever words I say, I will always love you
I'll always love you
I'll always love you
'Cause I love you
I will always love you

There's been a disturbing trend of late, where great songs being covered by singers with "better trained" voices, employing all sorts of tonal gymnastics, but that fall far short of the soulfulness of the originals, leaving the experience shallow and flat.

Agreed
Too soft rinsed for my taste - though I must admit that I love the original.
Horrible.

This song is by The Cure
Lovely.  But if I had never heard it, I wouldn't miss it.

As general fan of Adele I have to disagree. I think this was a huge swing but miss. Without the wistful ennui or angst to balance the lyrics, as other covers have retained, it sounds generic. I appreciate her attempt at a different style, but it was not a good choice IMO, I barely had patience to listen through it the couple times I've heard it.

AFI's cover of Head Like A Hole; A Static Lullaby's cover of Toxic; Murderdolls' cover of White Wedding; In This Moment's cover of Call Me; Lacuna Coil's version of Losing My Religion;  Within Temptation's cover of Summertime Sadness; Mindless Self Indulgence's cover of Tom Sawyer (which is purposefully batsh*t insane and stupid but still...)

Maybe expand your musical horizons and you'll discover some non-slow covers. Whether you'll like them or not is a whole different story, but still...

Add in the Headstones version of Tweeter and the Monkey Man (crushes the original - yes, that's like my opinion man.)
Really sad version !!! Her voice is wonderful but I don’t think she studied this song at all . Completely missed it. I don’t know who put her up to this but they were foolish and I really am upset radio paradise relayed it . You have to be a little discerning to understand art and realize when it doesn’t work . This is by far the worst version of this song and I’ve heard crummy garage bands play it . She has a lot of talent but this is an example of ehete her voice doesn’t do it justice

Lordy!  This tune is a perfect example of her vocal control.  Goosebumps of the best kind.

And I'll write it again: Why do covers always have to be slower than the original? Why not faster and harder?

I like the cure and this song but really never knew it was the Cure.  I also agree that their original is better.
I was impressed :)  loved it
I really dislike the way see sings 'alone' in this...
there word "blasphemy" just crossed my mind...
how dare you, little one.
And I'll write it again: Why do covers always have to be slower than the original? Why not faster and harder?
hmmm....listening with headphones and I give it a 7 for the guitar and not the vocals (though she has a great voice)
Hmmm... there's a curveball, if I ever saw one. I could never imagine that Bill dug Adele. Well, one learns a lesson everyday, innit? (As Adele would probably say. She's from London, you know) {#Angel}

Greetings from London.

I prefer the 311 version.
No. Just... No.

I've heard lots of covers of songs I liked. I think this is a pretty good one. She made me stop and think...what song is this?

{#High-five} Agreed! This young woman is the real deal. A great talent.

Appreciate the effort, but I'll take The Cure. Thanks!

Oh....that's right THEY ARE BOTH FANTASTIC SONGS AND YOU WON'T FIND ANY RADIO STATION PLAYING THEM BACK TO BACK - FOLLOWING RODRIGO Y GABRIELA NO LESS - EXCEPT  RP.

WHICH IS WHY THIS IS THE GREATEST RADIO STATION IN THE HISTORY OFTHE WORLD.

Can you imagine having that voice, having her vocal issues, and still smoking? Tobacco's Amy Winehouse. I hope she gets scared enough to quit now because her voice is lovely.

I agree completely. Included the 'Meh' part.
Thanks Bill. Love Adele!!!

I love her voice - it is soaked w/ emotion. Some of us love that.
Yuck.
OMG! This is like soooo bad!{#Puke}

Ah, I forgot 311 covered this.  They actually did a fine job with it, I think.  Nothing life-changing, but it was certainly acceptable.

{#Yes}
Better than the song they play on radios all the time!!

boring and in no way even close to the original in any way. guitar work is fine, though.

took some time to sink into my skull it was a cover. Granted I was reading something but the first chorus was almost over before I noticed.
Not bad. She's got a pleasing voice.
Certainly different from the original, and an improvement over it IMHO.

I actually felt offended when I heard this, but after a few more listens, I've come to like her version...
I like her, but yet another unnecessary remake in a field of many.

Also agree. Once I overcame the natural resistance to give a chance to anyone touching such a classic I realized that this is actually pretty good.

Couldn't agree more. The squeeek of her and of Florence and the Machine are a sad trend.

I feel this adds nothing to the original.
Adele has very much made this song her own. That voice...........so Janita-ish.......it's great.
Just singing to myself
I love Adele, but I hate this!

This is not working for me. The Cure had a unique way of making melancholy work. This chick isn't pulling that off. Bleh.

I don't know. The original wasn't exactly upbeat and peppy, either - it had a very distinctly melancholy vibe to it.
Some of her I like, some of her I don't. Shade of Amy Winehouse indeed. Lets see what and where she goes....
Abundent thanx to Adeles fokes for procreating!! we needed this voice.. and to you Bill for the amazing playlists!! {#Notworthy}
I have to agree w/ Bill on this one. Steely Dan and The Who, not so much, but the more Adele the better. Her voice is perfection. Some covers can be annoying/pointless... but I like this one - it fits the mood of the album and is a good, laid-back rendition.{#Cheers}
Interesting cover. I'm not sure if I like it or not. She has a nice voice but I question the bluesy take on the song. I'll have to listen to it a few more times to see if it grows on me or not.

I have no words...

Good song, but Adele doesn't get credit for the cover.  Average vocal rendition for me at best.  Its been done better.
No, Adele, NO! Hands off the Cure (with your stridant, squeaking vocal style).  NO!  {#Whipit}

well this makes a trifecta of sappy songs this morning. Must be my mood, but this stuff is really grating {#Beat}{#Puke} . 3x<5 ratings in a row!

I like Adele, but no covers RP!
Charm!

This cover makes no sense. It's about feeling good when she's near the one she loves, yet she sings it like a blues song. The upbeat spin that The Cure puts on it works much better.

I've always found The Cure's version to have a definite bittersweet quality, as if Robert was maintaining a more-than-slight distance from the relationship he's singing about. A wistful, minor-key ode rather than a celebration of love. I think she builds on that aspect of the song nicely.
So over her. Am I the only one that finds her muttered together so called bluesy voice annoyingly under annunciated and overdone?!

I've come to really enjoy Adele's music, but this sounds a little too much like a cover by a lounge singer (not in a good way, mind you).

I love the original version of this song, so it would be tough for anyone to do it justice, in my opinion.
I didn't like this song originally, and Adele's cover doesn't lend anything to it. I hope this won't be a mainstay - I might have to create a shortcut key for the "mute" on my Winamp.

I like this cover too. I like her voice and the guitar is awesome in this.
I really like this cover.
