Actually, I saw a fountain of water on fire at a festival last year when someone was mixing some kind of fuel into water and then hitting it with a flame thrower that set it alight. It was a surreal thing to watch.
On the other hand, Adele is a bit too 'poppy' for my tastes with this and I can see this being never played again in a few short weeks.

MPR's On the Media just did a segment on why Adele's song "Someone like you" is so powerful and elicits such emotion from people. It was a very interesting piece.

Setting fire to water is not as difficult as you would think. Just check out some of the videos of people lighting their tap water on fire after natural gas companies doing "fracking" in their areas.

Very well said. There's a few who will give a thumbs down because the song or artist was commercially successful and/or because of high production values. Only male artists and indie artists can make "good" music. Utter nonsense.

Her emotion comes through in her voice — not through her lyrics necessarily — for me. I can register the feeling. This makes me like her as a musician.

You should wake up to something other than top 40 radio, then..may I suggest NPR?
Keep in mind that a lot of the best music Bill plays for us was at one time top 40 fodder and has stood the test of time. Just because commercial radio beats you over the head with an artist doesn't mean they aren't good, or even great.

I actually see this a different way. I don't listen to commercial radio. Ever. When I hear buzz about music (e.g. Mumford and Sons or Adele), I don't care if it's popular or just among the hipsters or whatever. I just think "if it's good, Bill will play it and then I will judge for myself". what ever it is, I hear it. I agree, she doesn't need it. I saw a folk singer a few months ago and he was using the same effect. It must resonate with someone... just not me

All of you saying this is too "commercial" just confirms that you actually listen and KNOW playlists on those particular stations. If you're so concerned about whether or not it is played on RP, how would you know yourself how often it is played somewhere else? I caught you!

As usual, Adele has the voice that lesser singers would kill for.
This one of my favorites from her. She belted this one out at a recent show at the Greek Theater, so great to see her live!
