My body moves in time
We're begging on the feeding line
We're lifting out above this head space
See my body over flows

But I got my whole damn life
Caught up in moments entirely of yours
But I'm finding it harder to reason in order to grow
And finding it hard is a feeling that all of you know
Know know

See my body keeps in line
And I got my whole damn life
Oh I want to be somebody, somebody, someone
You're so desperate now
Oh no you won't let it go
You bit of your tongue to become one

Nevertheless when this pain in my chest seems to grow
I'm living it harder to feel what it feels like to know
You know, know, know

(whistling)

The home I lived in I came to grow
My body's cumbersome and slow
But I felt it felt it coming over me
(x2)

I got my whole damn life
Caught up in moments entirely of yours
But I'm finding it harder to reason in order to grow (whistling)
And finding it hard is a feeling that all of you know (whistling)

Nevertheless, when this pain in my chest seems to grow
And grow
You know, know, know

You've never heard of Drop Bears?

Gaahhh!! Me too :-)
One of the things I am most looking forward to when the pandemic is over, is to be able to see this band live.
Great Australian band.

The whole LP is wonderful, and surprisingly was at risk of not being made at points... Amusingly their co-manager at the time, Guy Morrow, wrote an academic paper on the conflict! https://www.arpjournal.com/asa... ("Creative Conflict In A Nashville Studio: A Case Of Boy & Bear") and seems there were some fairly tense periods, but a great recording came out of it.

I frequently relisten to Moonfire and enjoy each play. Their latest records are also great, I encourage everyone to give them a try if they like this style.
just saw them in concert in Chicago on Monday.  Excellent live :)

I imagine he's pretty tired of having to tell people that story.
Still sounds good.

B& B are in my home town Hobart, Tasmania, this very day!!  {#Daisy}
Looked at the album cover showing on tunein whilst this was playing - shows the album picture with artist as boy & album as mutual friends. Text above shows artist as boy and song as feeding line. Small bug somewhere...

Great 10 song run from one great aussie band in the Audreys to this one.  RP consistently awesome.

yeah really digging their sound more and more with time..{#Cheers}
I freaking love this band.  Love his voice.  Love their style.
:-)
Love this band - first heard them here, this very song. Check out their latest CD "Harlequin Dreams" if you like this. {#Roflol}
this reminds me of a Grey's Anatomy song, nothing wrong with that.

And there you have it…..so all of you (all y'all for the US folks) that made fun of the band name are now considered to be a-holes.

Why Boy and Bear?  Bears aren't indigenous to Australia.  Shouldn't it be Boy and Platypus or Boy and BarB or something like that?

The band's name does not refer to the large, ursine omnivore, but rather to a financial investor who is pessimistic about the markets and seeks to profit from their declines.  Really - I heard about it on an episode of "Chico & The Man".
Like them...

Yikes, two days in a row? It's about as unwelcome as the bear's belch after he ate the boy.
I remember the movie about the boy and the bear, the one where the bear ate the boy at the end.
This is good bear hunting music, I've found

{#Roflol} I'd pay good money to see Frog and Bear. I love the off-beat rhythms in this song.

I really can not compare this to the Fleet Foxes. The lead singer's voice somewhere remotely sounds the same as the FF lead singer at times, but Boy & Bear's music as a whole really doesn't sound like FF.

This, "Moonfire", is an excellent album by the way. Great variety!

Keep'n my ears warm with these very cold temp's.

Or, as my m/c buddies might say:- FYYFF.
The band name reminds me of a couple I met long ago "Bear" and "Buffarilla".... both big people with lots of hair. She was a cross between a buffalo and gorilla and that's where the name originated.  Like I said nice people but size (6'3"+ each) and unruly hair put the world at a distance.... Not musicians, but lots of interesting tales... We shared a pina colada afternoon that ended with everyone feeling like Pooh Bear and the jar... The Boy and Bear music is nice, but... No hook... Pleasant but no recommendation... Maybe some few hours of pina coladas would change things....

OK, random ramblings, but what do friends do when listening to music...?

Exactly

Great stuff !!

Okay, we get it. Move on.
love that bass
Must be descendants of the whistlers from the movie The Bridge on the RIver Kwai. Good song!
Would never have picked these guys as good old Ockers.  That's what you get for moving to the other side of the world I guess.

Not even close!

What makes this song really  interesting is the 'battle' between the tricky background instrumentation and the singer's rhythm. Really grabs my attention, and must make it tough to perform well. 7 from the intrigued Nottingham jury (which also loves the band name :o)).

Wow! New & refreshing.  8

Me too Bill, I really like that song ! Thanks for playing it.
I really like this.  Great voice, guitar, layers,.. and cool whistling.
Likin' it FINE!  Great job putting this "on air" for us, RP, thanks!
Sounds like Patience by Guns 'n' Roses.

WELL?  There's whistling in it!

I keep thinking that eventually this song won't sound as kickass good to me, but it seems to have staying power.  Excellent tune.

Scott, I think it's ironic - someone could say that YOU cannot say someone else cannot say "sounds nothing like AC/DC" and they would be just as incorrect as you are.

I totally agree with your point that if somebody says it sound like AC/DC, then it DOES to them, since that was the response triggered in their brain for whatever reason.

I agree that for someone to respond to tell someone "It sounds nothing like XXXXXX..." is obtuse (unless they add - "to me").

But for you to say someone else can or cannot say something that doesn't endanger the public seems obtuse as well, to me.  This is America.

WTF.
This song is growing on me every time I hear it.
I agree about the whistling, but then again, it's catchy in a pop kind of way. At least this song won't get played over & over again 'in a pop kind of way.'
I saw them at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco a coupla weeks ago - they are VERY LOUD in a small venue - where I paid the princely sum of $10 USD for a one-set show.  They were opened by another (not-yet-ready-for-primetime) band.

Met a self-described "Househead" (A follower of Crowded House, like the deadheads who followed the Grateful Dead around.  Who knew?) who likened this band's harmonies to those of Crowded House and their ilk.  This woman was a veritable fount of knowledge and seemed to have an encyclopedic grasp of the Australian and American Celtic-Bluegrass-Rock-Folk scene (my term, not hers), and mentioned another band that I haven't checked out yet, but which might be worth listening to:  Mumford and Sons.

I've posted a more vitriolic rant about this before, but if somebody says it sounds like AC/DC, then it does. This point is not arguable. Music is so subjective, how can you know what elements of a certain song are reaching any individual's brain? You can't. Maybe that one chord on the rhythm guitar right *there!* reminds *that* listener of something they were doing in 1978 and in 1978 they listened to AC/DC a lot so this song sounds like AC/DC to them. You cannot say "sounds nothing like AC/DC."

Maybe a more appropriate response would be "their use of harmony is similar but beyond that, I think their sounds diverge..." or "I'm not hearing that."

I remember that rant, I do believe, since it was in response to a reply to my post about Some Say Leland sounding like Sufjan Stevens. In any case, go Scott!

Bumping from 7 to 8 - at first I thought it was Nils Lofgren!  Then the whistling started. {#Lol}  I still really like this song.

Awesome... keep it coming Bill!!

whistling pretty much destroys any song but i still like this one (song not whistling)
