Little bird
Have you got a key?
Unlock the lock
Inside of me
Where will you go
To keep yourself afloat?

Feeling old
Until the wing
Unfolded
Caught me a long wind
Where will we go
To keep ourselves afloat?

I caught a long wind
A long life wind

I got to know the sky
But it didn't know me
I got to see the land
And land on top of the sea
And be the bird and be the key
And the current tells
What the wave withheld
And the lightning sang
Of where the light would land
Where will you go
To keep yourself afloat?

I caught a long wind
A long life wind
Like a swallow
A night owl
A little chickadee
Sad sparrow
Good morning bird
Good nightingale
I took a deep breath
And caught a long wind

FEISTY!

Record companies are not risk takers, so I am never surprised by new bands/singers that sound like a previous hitmaker.  I prefer to judge a band/singer by what they bring to the table OTHER than that they sound like Kate Bush, Led Zeppelin, or ...

Ms Feist has a powerful voice.
This song reminds me of the time i ate some bad kimchi...

This gets said a lot of almost every female singer on RP, however as a big KB fan myself, I have to agree this time. Vocally, she does sound a lot like Kate did in the 1990s or so, (though Kate's musical style and vocal tone has changed in recent years).

A good bit of Kate back then, Tori Amos was obvious in her Kate patterns, but yeah, some of the other comparisons are "um, what?"

What a segue from Sivert Hoyem!
I concur , a nine it is!!!!
Little bit like Kate Bush!
This whole album is great.
Beautiful, emotive.  My favorite Feist song.
take Kate Bush and add a little Billie Eilish - and Feist you have ;)
This one is a solid 9 maybe even 10 for me. Absolutely love it, gives me goosebumps and tears in my eye every time
My only exposure to her previously has been the time she guested on Sesame Street and I really liked that. This is alright!
Awesome in my book.

This song is going straight to the "Cloudy & Cold Days Playlist"
I don't exactly what  but there's something Japanese to this song. Love it.
Well, that's a nice song. Good writing.  But after about 4 listens, though, it has runs its course.
Nice tune, I'll have another gin&tonic
WHAT AN EXQUISITE VOICE!!!! Amazing!
The incomparable Leslie Fiest is absolutely amazing!!!
She has control; what singers are most wanting in their powerful voices. This is a very interesting and emotionally-involving song!
It's time to take this up to a NINE in my books.   Gets better over the years !

She's the real deal.
Tasty!

Definitely not a mondegreen. Pun maybe, allusion probably. Anyway, sounds nice, and a bit less depressed than Tori :)

Pure boredom. Hey, wait, I fell asleep! Did I miss the cool part, at the bridge? Nope...

I try not to rate anything too low as I have the musical intellect of a manhole lid.  That said, 5 was a reach.

I hear more of a Bush influance.
Pure delight...

I think that this is the first time I've heard the word "chickadee" since I last watched a WC Fields sketch (look him up, kids). I got this album on the strength of this and a few other songs played on RP, and IMO the first half is an 8 and the second a 4. For sure, though, Feist makes an effort to be different, creative and experimental, so kudos to her for that. 8 from the Nottingham jury.
Not a Feist fan, but at least she is taking herself more serious on this one.
Doesn't feel like it should be the music to a big purple dinosaur episode

Too many beans resulting in catching a long wind

I guess it became venerable when you and I became venerable.

Not a big Feist fan, but this is really pretty good.

Sounds like Tori when she was still listenable..
Could not have said it better myself...

Dull.

Really gave it my best shot at listening and enjoying. Not especially good guitar work, or arrangement - in fact, pretty jarring in places.
Lyrically, not much to it really.

In fact, the entire thing just makes me want to sleep or PSD.

I use ot date a girl that looked like her and she was quite "Feisty"!

Therefore, I like Feist!
Love her musicality and sensitivity. Long live Feist.
This song has got a Oriental flavour to it. I like it.

The piano backing does it for me (aside from the fab vocal)—especially at the bridge, beautiful subtle chords, perfectly blended. How cool.
6 ~> 8

Feist's music does not connect with me.  But I can understand the appeal and it sounds very, very tight.

Fesit is a great addition to the radioparadise play list.

This prods along...but it works!
So moving vocally,touching.

So, the point is not to be banal.  It's a worthy aspiration in my opinion.  Think of the egotism involved in a musician putting out a CD for people to listen to.  It is an artist saying:  "I am so good, you should listen to my creative efforts, and also pay for it".  Well, OK, I say, and in this little deal we have made, part of the bargain is that I am going to tell you the truth as to how I feel about it; and this comment board is the place to do it.

It's hard for me to understand why someone who is capable of something as beautiful as this, would record inanity like that freaking mushaboom crap.

I had almost written her off.

Were I capable, my dream job would involve releasing an album of accessible pop that would keep me in skittles for the rest of my life and break me into the US market, then spend my days making creative, beautiful music that would keep me and my dedicated fans happy.

Pity, I can't do either one.... Anyway, I know that's not what Feist did, but if you were to compare this song with Mushaboom, it might seem that way.
Think she was influenced by Tori's Caught a Lite Breeze?

What an  amazing talent.

There are not many that can give you goose bumps from just a squeeze on a note.

Please. Please. Please.  No more Feist.  Her music was somewhat tolerable when she first came out, but now I find her voice to be extremely annoying and I'm sick of hearing her stuff being overplayed on commercial stations.  It's bad enough, I have to stop the music and wait till she's done.{#Puke}
This song shines for me with headphones on.{#Music}

I don't think it is a need, just a guilty pleasure. It's just plain fun.
So is the title a twist on Tori Amos' "Caught a Lite Breeze"?

Not disappointed in the purchase at all.

I'd have to second that summary.  Very nice album if you like Feist.

I like Feist but her voice seems almost forced at times in this song and it almost sounds like someone is getting spanked toward the end of the song?

Feist gives me goosepimples, but even if she bored the crap out of me I'd never describe her as "crap" as she can plainly sing and write her own material. A woman to be looked up to. 8 from the newly-smitted Nottingham jury.
