My heart goes out to you, maybe you were affected personally by 9-11?  Maybe it would help to expand your knowledge of where this track comes from (hint: not the Taliban) and musical styles in general.  And disassociate the actions of a few evil kooks to the culture from which they came.

The drums sound just like Phil Collins on "Mama"

good
I SO dig this. Guess some people here have an issue with this unsual combo, but really I like that they are just trying something so completely different.

And why all the racist comments? I mean, seriously, "Arab noise"? "Radio Taliban"?
Get the sticks out of your behinds and open your minds.

Small praise indeed...
Way cool song.  Chair dancing!
Wins hands-down over the obnoxious B. Marley song played just before.
(I'm happy the  times are changing)
I still haven't rated this song, because it's so disliked.  But, I think I like it!  Maybe because I'm a belly dancer?  It has a good pounding drive.
In the first five seconds I knew people were going to be hating this! To me its OK.
Anyone else think the male lead singer sounds a bit like Sting (and no, I didn't read through all the comments to see if others mentioned this.)
Super Heavey?
wins for awesome album art. verdict is out on the song, though.

I think you'll find it was the comments, not the song.

Really refreshing. More we will hear this kind of music, more it will cure us from our racist tendancies.

How in the world is this going to cure you from your racist tendencies?
LikeTJS said some time ago, when this first came on I thought it was someone's take on the Genesis song "Mama".
I have to agree with the majority report of opinions on this track — it was okay for a moment, but it's just goofy and grating.
I would imagine that it'd be fun to hear live, perhaps if you on an island resort.
Not so much here.
no need of this f.ckin eurovision song :/
Sucks like a vacuum cleaner.
More!

I am sure that some of the record company suck-ups must have heard this before it was released and had deep misgivings.

edit:  it just broke my app and I had to reload it.  Salvaged brilliantly by Dawn Penn.  Thanks again RP.

Awful
I'm actually enjoying this..
sounds like one of those songs on which beavis or butthead would go: "this sucks, change it"
I"m wondering if you're the only one that 'got" this, or the only one who thought it was funny. :-)

(sigh) Where to start with a comment like that? No 1: the Taliban were completely anti-music, much as the English Puritans were and for the same reasons. No 2: the styles in this track come from India and the Caribbean. No 3: no, I just can't be arsed to respond further to such ignorant trollings.

I'm quite a fan of this album, which I'd not have heard if not for RP. I love the Bhangra styling of this track. Very eclectic and different, a bit like RP itself, really :)

I love the sound of world beats and instruments. Ordinarily I would like something like this but unfortunately, this is a colossal cacophony of wasted talent.
Ugh. Get some new songs in rotation.
love the world music fusion.  Play more like this Bill!  Nitin Sawhney, Afro Celt, Miriam and Amadou,Basia Bulat, Asif Avida and more. There's lots of great music outside our borders
Sucky-o?  You got that right.  A solid 2 at best.

I am, apparently, in the minority, but I like it. Clever people doing clever music. World music with an edge, why not? I think all the haters need to chill a bit and listen more, but that's just me.

Just press stop on your player when Bill plays this. When he sees the drop in subscribers whenever he plays it, maybe it will sink in how awful this song is. Oh, and press play after three minutes or so....

———————————————————————————————————————

Allah Rakha Rahman, 46 years old, is an Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, musician, multi-instrumentalist and philanthropist. He plays guitar, percussion, drums, harpejji, continuum fingerboard, keyboard, piano, accordion, goblet drum, concert harp and vocals. Just to remind.

Rahman is involved in various charitable causes. In 2004, he was appointed as the Global Ambassador of the Stop TB Partnership, a project by WHO. He has shown support to charities including Save the Children, India, and worked with Cat Stevens for his song "Indian Ocean".

He
participated in dozens of Film Original score, Original Soundtracks, and in his personal discography, has done 15 Music-sudio-albuns.

It was one of the drivers, and part of the amazing project "SuperHeavy". He composed the original song "Mahiya", "Satyameva Jayathe" in collaboration with Marley / Stone, "SuperHeavy" with Marley / Stone.Mick Jagger, Damian Marley, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, A. R. Rahman.

It is nevertheless interesting that a band like "Superheavy" before being a reality as it is today, it would be quite unthinkable and unlikely to happen with the huge diversity and artistic sensibilities of the musicians that comprise it, but the truth is what happened, and therein lies, perhaps to prove that anything is possible in music, since there is the will and determination. It is the "miracle" of music.

And thankfully
, I say.

Suck-e-oh indeed.
I love Mahi Mahi.  Is that what this song is about?  Yum.

I agree. The others I've heard are fine. Nothing too exciting. This is a notch above that and easy to like on the first listen. That's not always a good thing but I think it'll settle at a 7 for me. I'll give it an 8 for now just because I enjoyed it more than most of my 7s.

Did you think before you posted that dismissive response? "World music" is the vast majority of music produced on the planet - music from anglo-saxon cultures is in the minority, despite its media dominance. Would you have written "generic american music", say?

Me, I like ol' Rubberlips' mash-ups in this experimental album, and as a fan of Bhangra this one really gets my toes tapping (and, if I weren't in the cube farm, my arms waving). It's also very RP. 8 from the swaying Nottingham jury.

Ok - it's OFFICIAL I give up on trying to like this album - It's OUT!!!!

You know, without Mick singing, this isn't half bad. Every other Superheavy song is god awful, and I'm beginning to think that it's because Mick sucks.

Nothing against Bollywood (leave alone their films are simply ridiculous!),
but no band including SIR JAGGER should dare to sing such a song,

JAGGER is joke in any other band than the STONES!

Ho-Hum. Generic "world music."
Every track from SuperHeavy sounds like they finished recording it then thought "Oh heck, we've gotta fit Joss in somewhere, let's just let her wail over the top of everything. Again".

Have to say I prefer this one to some of the other stuff tho. 4.

as usual RP have showed me another artist who is both new to me and great to my taste.
