Jumping up and down the floor,
My head is an animal.
And once there was an animal,
It had a son that mowed the lawn.
The son was an OK guy,
They had a pet dragonfly.
The dragonfly, it ran away,
But it came back with a story to say.

Her dirty paws and furry coat,
She ran down the forest slopes.
The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees.
The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.
The birds, they got help from below,
From dirty paws and the creatures of snow.

So for a while things were cold,
They were scared down in their holes.
The forest that once was green
Was colored black by those killing machines.
But she and her furry friends
Took down the queen bee and her men.
And that's how the story goes,
The story of the beast with those four dirty paws.

Interesting how RP liked Monsters & Men back around 2012 then for whatever reason turned on them.  Not sure if we have a different crowd in here or what.

My own opinion is it's a fun band with nice melodies, it's from someplace different, and it takes me back to the "good old days" of RP.
This song is actually very skippable.
MAN I hate these songs with the forced "ya'll join in - you know where" yells.
Dear everyone,
here it is a hungarian cover of this beauty, with some drop of "0",
enjoy with love:

Of Monsters and Men - Dirty Paws (Hungarian cover)

Peace!

This is true. It's also true of a lot of bands. Fortunately for me, I like the sound. As long as I don't hear their songs back to back, I'm happy to hear them in rotation.

Walter Mitty anyone?

I identified with him more than I want to admit. Wait, did I just...
Anyway, great movie, great selection of music.
Guess it wouldn't be one of their songs without a hee-yah <whipcrack> or whoop.

Arcade Fire wannabe.
"Hey!"
Insert Mr. Yuck emoji here.

Spot on. I was searching for the words.
Song is fine except it sounds like Arcade Fire is covering that Edward Sharp and Magnetic Zeros song. Still works tho
Yuk.
Wow, they really thought they could put out this track and not think that everyone would assume they ripped it off from Edward Sharpe?  At first I thought it was Edward Sharpe putting out a song that sounded just like 'Home' and was going to criticize the lack of evolution but now I have a whole other level of criticism because it's a full copycat band! Talk about lack of originality...
Hipster Crap alert. This one sounds like the pretend band on the Colitis Commercial

I refuse to join in with the haters on this one.

Nine years ago, when the album was released, my then seven-year-old god-daughter was really getting into music.  The album was one of her favourites, this track being a big hit with her.  She knew every word and hearing it will always remind me of a magical, silly weekend we spent with her and her dad, playing it to death and singing our hearts out.

Caity will be 16 soon.

Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana...

Hmm, is this where Ed Sharpe got his hit from?
Shouting in music? PSD!
Walter Mitty anyone?
Booo !!!!

I wish it could've stayed that way.
Saw Edward Sharpe with wife in Calgary about a month ago, great show, we both thought we heard this song that night!
I agree with everyone — this is very derivative

Maybe they'll split it with Arcade Fire.

it's exactly  like hearing "Home"...
What a complete ripoff of Ed Sharpe.

That was gorgeous!

So happy you keep finding gems for us.
The female vocal sounds a lot like Emiliana Torrini.
Man, oh man, you’re my best friend,
I scream it to the nothingness
There ain’t nothin’ that I need

...wait...wrong song?....are you sure?

Go get the Album folks ...... love the harmony like as singular but two voices, she seems to take the lead and he accompanies, impresses me.

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros - Home is exactly what I was thinking of

Are Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros getting a check for this?
