I don't want to strive for nothing anymore,
I just want to lie here with you,
Keep the wolves outside the door,
There is nothing in this world you could ever show me that could ever matter more.

Little baby
In the next room dreaming,
Is just icing on the cake,
There is nothing like dancing,
A dance of give and take,
One step forward,
One step sideways,
A helpless feeling,
When the earth shakes.

I will always be your lover,
Even after our atoms are dispersed,
We will be pushing up daisies,
And my crush will just be getting worse,
I will follow you into the next life,
Like a dog chasing after a hearse.

I just don't want to strive for nothing anymore,
I just want to lie here with you,
Keep the wolves outside the door,
There is nothing in this world you could ever show me that could ever matter more

Possibly worse than Dave Mathews.

Gotta watch Arnie, sorry, make that Ani, in person.

It all makes much more sense then.

Still acclimating meself to this one, tho'.

Slit my wrists please...
Bill, do you play stuff from Like I Said? Here's my 'yes' vote!
Ani being not-so-annoying. Decent. Oh wait, Acceptable is before Decent. :p
love me some Ani
Gee, Ani could have been a big country singer all this time. {#Lol}
Haunting

Very good
I'll just be over here...throwing up
Shit's broke, Bill!  But I do dig some righteous babe music.
Yep, so was Gazpacho - Winter is Never.

came to comment how much this sounded like Ani...surprised to see it IS Ani.  Like the mellowing, motherhood has been treating her nicely.
10:07 - Hearse
10:49 - Hearse

Oh well, there are much worse songs to spam us with. Agree with other posters, this was a "Wait, Ani? Is that you? My god you grew up to be a pretty girl after all."

Weird, this song was just on about an hour ago.
Ditto. I have loved Ani's work for years, yet I didn't even realize this was her until I checked the info on RP to see what I was listening to. Wow...this could really grow on me.

Wow, different... for Ani DiFranco.  Pretty sure I'd never have heard it except for RP.  Thanks, Bill

 Well Said!

Quite like this.  Less quirky than some of Ani's stuff - think all artists mature over time

Chlorophyll?... more like bore-ophyll!!

Tolerable.

Always surprised when Bill comes on and says this is Ani DiFranco - haven't been able to take much of her to this point but I Love this new song!
No way.
Take it out of the hearse and bury it.

this song is surprisingly beautiful.
Not an Ani fan, but I liked this one!  It's like she found each note and stayed there for a bit.
New Ani is a good thing!
This is a first for me. Not just a first comment (edit: drat, beaten to the punch!), but the first Ani DiFranco song that's not an insta-mute for me. There was a newspaper review of a live gig by her in the UK a week back which was very complimentary, and said that she was getting less introspective and more political. It'll be interesting to hear more from this new album.

It's an okay song, but not one of the best on the new record.
