Rose was born in the country but she dreamt of the sea
She lives with the best friend of a cobbler's son
Where they take care of their own

She walks freely through the farm missing feathers from her plume
Pushed from the flock she knows so she eats alone
Best friend on her own
And does she know that she has a soul?
And does she know where we all go?

Rose tucks her head in dark feathers to keep from the storm
She sits silent on the front porch watching it all go
And the fire burns
And the garden grows
And the children play
Through the orchard's moans

One day Rose left her porch and found the water running free
She jumped right in, tucked her feet and took that river to the sea
How does she know where we all go?
And how does she know that she has a soul?

I would like to know which instrument Cyber Camel plays,  or the underbelly for that matter?

I really enjoyed this, I'm going to Amazon right now to check out the rest of the album.

Rated it an 8.

Yeah, a bit like Mozart symphonies I suppose.
Folksy and easy listening!!!
Never heard of them and I lived in Sandpoint and have been to the Festival several times. Thanks RP for playing a wonderful mix of music.

thank you ... a song I have never heard before... wonderful visuals created ...
universal longings, feelings
Thank you Radio Paradise... for exposing me to music I would never find on my own....

If I read the lyrics correctly, Rose, the heroine of the song, is a chicken or goose who lives in a barnyard.

Holy eiderdown, Batman!
Me Likey like! Very Much!

I am reminded of a Steve Martin bit where he says that people ask him how he can be funny all the time and what he does when he's just not feeling funny, He replied "I put a piece of bologna in my shoe. That always makes me feel *funny*". A banjo always makes a song sound sound... well.... *funny*
Very nice. Has kind of a Roche Sisters sound.
Funny.  I was just thinking, "these girls are GOOD".  They I logged on to make a comment and see that this has already been noted.

Damned if I've got nothing new to add....
These girls are GOOD!
Love it, love it, love it.  Get's my head bobbin'  {#Dancingbanana}

Yep, must be that sisters thing.
good for about 5 seconds.
Good song, but I don't like the khhhs. Grates on me. Chickens are OK.
Reminds me a bit of the Dresden Dolls for some reason.
6.8? Trout Fishing meets Romper Room on Qualudes.

Quirky. Intriguing. Grabs the ears straight away. And very, very RP. Clucking excellent - 8 from the arrested Nottingham jury.

If the jury is arrested surely that's a mistrial? Har har.

Interesting, I thought it was Feist until I checked.

Interesting rhythm and counterpoint.  It flows right along.  7+ to start.
