Susan spent the weekend at her stately home
Crying at the lions on the garden wall
And then she'd sigh - sneak away
Look at her style - free the day.

Oh no not me - I wouldn't
Oh no not me - I couldn't
That's all she says, her money and her place
They just don't mean a fucking thing.

Susan met the lords and dukes of everywhere
Smiling, kissing, wishing that they'd go to hell
And then she'd laugh - wonder why
Take a nap - sit and cry.

Oh no not me - I wouldn't
Oh no not me - I couldn't
That's all she says, her money and her place
They just don't mean a fucking thing.

I totaly agree.
Susan? What's the matter with Susan?
Just classic Bill - takes us all back to circa ''74, '75 - so good.  More of Jeff and his buddies.
dunno exactly why, but this has become my go-to album by ELO, play it at least twice as much as any other of theirs, the last few years.
Man, I probably haven't heard this in 30 years - on vinyl...
I love the Move - early ELO stuff.
Great BBC documentary on Jeff Lynne on BBC recently.  One of the few good things to come out of Birmingham!!
Dog gone, first time hearing this for me, always wondered about more from ELO. Can't complain a bit. Is this Gentle Giant like? or reverse?
Jeff is a genius.

Maybe the most underrated band in the history of Rock.

Once a favorite group of mine, now I can hardly stand to listen to them. Depressing, they are.
1973, and it sounds fresh as anything recorded recently.
