Can anybody find me somebody to love?

Each morning I get up I die a little
Can barely stand on my feet (take a look at yourself)
Take a look in the mirror and cry
Lord, what you're doing to me
I have spent all my years in believing you
But I just can't get no relief, Lord!
Somebody oooh somebody
Can anybody find me somebody to love?

I work hard (he works hard) everyday of my life
I work 'till I ache my bones
At the end (at the end of the day)
I take home (goes home) my hard earned pay all on my own (goes home on his own)
I get down on my knees
And I start to pray (praise the Lord)
'Till the tears run down from my eyes
Lord, somebody oooh somebody
Can anybody find me somebody to love?

(He works hard)
Every day - I try and I try and I try -
But everybody wants to put me down
They say I'm going crazy
They say I got a lot of water in my brain
Got no common sense
I got nobody left to believe

Oh Lord
Somebody (somebody)
Can anybody find me somebody to love?

Got no feel, I got no rhythm
I just keep losing my beat
I'm OK, I'm alright
I ain't gonna face no defeat
I just gotta get out of this prison cell
Someday I'm gonna be free, Lord!

Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love

Somebody somebody somebody somebody somebody
Find me somebody find me somebody to love
Can anybody find me somebody to love?

Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me somebody to love
Find me find me find me
Find me somebody to love
Somebody to love
Find me somebody to love...

Oh man. So true!
At girlfriend's encouragement, joined Becket Players and learned to sing chorus for this, as part of Chorus to their theatre presentation fundraiser for the Montreal Childrens' Hospitals.

Loved every moment of that season, rehersals for dance and voice and movement, and gf's closeness as bonus,

What an awesome time...

Yours, Pedant #4
one of their best. still love it so much. and that roger can get those highest of the high notes is just amazing.

I genuinely only 'get' about 30% of Queen.
1/3 of that is 'good'.
The other 2/3 is between excellent ond OMG!
8-9 on this track for me...

Not if it's plural.

Addendum:   The guitar work in the song is exquisite.  Easily an 8.

Still? According to what list? Your list? Who's list?  And how are they exactly overrated?
Good lord I needed this song right this minute.

Nice same-key continuation from Wailin' Jennys to Queen!

'I just gotta get out of this prison cell
Someday I'm gonna be free, Lord!'

generally heard too soon after finding somebody to love
At the end where they get very quiet and then bring it up, I always picture my dad directing the band (he was a middle-school band director) to bring it back up to loud slowly and patiently.  I can see him crouching and making the 'shhh...' sign at the start of the crescendo...
Goosebumps.

Excellent piece of pedantry; well spotted.
So its's overplayed on numerous radio stations across the nation and now it's here too. It's a fabulous song or sure but disapointed to have to hear it here. Begin the hate.
The Gospel of Queen!
Le meilleur album des Queen ! Je le note 15/10 ;)
I saw Queen supporting Mott The Hoople in Worcester (England) just after the release of "Seven Seas of Rhye".  It's safe to say that they blew Mott off the stage without raising sweat.
In my opinion, which is way different than most, Queen I and II were the best from the band.

More like a West End Show than a rock band
I guess I've never forgiven them for Boho Rhap.  I grew up on Long Island in the 70s, and they played it on the radio, oh, I don't know, 400 fucking times a day for 8 months, then 360 times / day for the next 16 months. N ever been a big fan. Bowie, on the other hand... Do you happen to have the German version of Heroes, from Sound + Vision?
Boring, okay it is a masterpiece but it's more for mainstream radio IMO, not for RP
Speechless...
Very annoyed that the volume on my speakers only goes up to 10.

Yes! ...and now it seems better with High Quality headphones in FLAC with a great DAC & amp!

Never did see Queen back in the day and finally got tickets to see them this June in London. Thank you Covid19 that put paid to that gig!
Go love yourselves first.
Thankyou, thankyou for reminding me of how Queen sold out - to their credit. Take a listen to the albums 'Queen 1' and Queen 2'. The only thing ever close to those was "Brighton Rock". Jeez, they are masters of marketing their product. Maybe the labelling was a misnomer. Imagine that - the "Faith No More" of the 70's but no one knew it.  It was quite obvious with that beautiful ditty 'Crazy Little thing Called Love". But "Fat Bottomed Girls" certainly throws the mix.
Arrogance, pomposity, show-boating - it all makes for the right recipe when you combine it with song-writing genius and master technicians. Some of their songs were complete bollocks (Pain Is So Close To Pleasure, My Baby Does Me, Hang On In There, Man On The Prowl), but many of the others are quite brilliant. This one takes gospel to a level to look down from, much like the way Jimi Hendrix played the blues beyond what all the blues legends could never hold a candle to (Gary Moore's version of Red House does something similar too).
Beautiful!  What a voice...Truly unique and missing from pop music these days.  I miss super bands like this.

"Radio Gaga" was quite late in there career; "back in the day" for them would have been the late 1970s and early '80s.

A masterpiece, like many a Queen song.
Just awesome thanks

Touché .

I've heard that when this came out as a single, it was deemed a lesser version of Bohemian Rhapsody. It stands very well on it's own, and while I get the landmark significance of BH, I'd rather listen to this any day.

Uhhh...think they might have been at mythical status well before the kids that weren't there got ahold of them (see Live Aid, 1984).
It might start as a quiet under my breath kind of thing, but the chances that I'll wind up singing along loudly to this or many other Queen songs = 99.5%

The reason I listen to RP - is to get away from this music.
Might be great music - but over played till boring.

It's not just Freddie's incredible range, it's the way he uses it. You can feel it. You can see him. His voice struts across the stage  and his body follows.
It goes beyond a mere song, it's like seeing an actual show out of the speakers. Love it.

Queen never grabbed me. But this is one of the best.
Not something I'd put on for myself, but for showing up unexpectedly on a radio playlist, it's undeniably Godlike.

Not to sound like and old curmudgeon,  they certainly don't make songs like this anymore. This is Freddie's magnum opus.

I don't know about that; I would venture a guess that "most" of the RP listeners are not continually connected to a streaming source, to listen only to RP, or many may find themselves listening to terrestrial radio at one time or another - like while driving.

So much natural talent, I am surprised Freddie didn't explode.
Superb song. I first stated listening to Queen (buying their albums) in 1981. This song never really struck me at first. In fact, it was only in the last ten years that I really started to get it.
There are loads of gems of this quality on every album they did up until Hot Space came along. It wasn't until Innuendo that the magic returned.

George Micheal with the rest of Queen did it damned well, but the audience made it magical

Freddie Mercury.  Absolutely gifted, amazing singer.  What a showman in the best possible sense of the word.  So very glad I got to see them "back in the day".  Where ever you may be, Mr. Mercury, thank you (standing ovation).
Queen is hit or miss; this is hit...with these guys it was always rather uber-lavish

Greatest gospel song ever to feature an all-white casting. Beautiful singing, and the usual superb guitar doodles from Brian May. We need more songs sung by Freddie Mercury. It's an automatic mood-lifter.

Simply wonderful,simply Queen.
Great to hear one of the oldies. But as usual, the rest of the album is equally good, if not better. Millionaires' Waltz, Drowser, Teo Torriate (Let Us Cling Together), Who Needs You and of course, the highly camp Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy. Tie Your Mother Down used to be the preferred concert-opener for many years. You can see why. It's rock'n'roll at its best.

Thanks Bill.
