All it will take is
just one moment and
you can say goodbye to
how we had it planned

Fear like a habit,
run like a rabbit out and away.
Through the screen door
to the unknown.

And I want to love you and more.
I want to find you and more.
Where do you reside
When you hide? How can I find you?

'Cause I want to send you and more
I want to tempt you and more
can you tell that I am alive?
Let me prove it.

You and I, we're the same.
Live and die, we're the same.
Hear my voice, know my name,
you and I, we're the same.

Left like a pharaoh,
sing like a sparrow anyway.
Even if there is no land or
love in sight.

We bloom like roses,
leave like Moses out and away.
Through the bitter crowd
to the daylight.

And I want to love you and more.
I want to find you and more.
Can you tell that I am alive?
Let me prove it to ya.

You and I, we're the same.
Live and die, we're the same.
You rejoice, I complain,
but you and I, we're the same.
Live and die, we're the same.
You and I, we're the same.
Hear my voice, know my name,
you and I, we're the same.

And I want to love you and more.
I want to find you and more.
Where do you reside
When you hide? How can I find you?

'Cause I want to send you and more
I want to tempt you and more.
Can you tell that I am alive?
Let me prove it.

You and I, we're the same.
Live and die, we're the same.
You rejoice, I complain,
but you and I, we're the same.
Live and die, we're the same.
You and I, we're the same.
Hear my voice, know my name,
you and I, you and I.

Another Avett Brothers song killed by autotune. Thanks, Rick Rubin, but these aren't System of a Down... I'm pretty sure - from seeing the Avett Brothers live - that they wouldn't really need it if you gave them a few takes more instead of half-assing yet another record...

This uses autotune? Perhaps it's been put into blowback mode, then, because yer man sounds waaaaaay out of tune to these ears, painfully so. Earache :(
Whine whine whine.....{#Grumpy}
This sucks.

"with a little bit help from my friends"
reminds me a bit
I've almost never done this but when I run to hit the mute button it's a 1.
Pretty sure it's a bad sign when my first impression is "Oh, here's another band imitating the Avett Brothers."

I heard a lovely woman do this on button accordion this summer in Montmartre.

You dog
Way too sappy!{#Stop}
I love these guys, they sing from the heart.
A lot of criticism here. I can see how, yet i still like this album. But this song is the most "poppy" of 'em all. I suggest Bill playing some of the other tunes of which i'm sure they'll be received quite well here, because there are some nice gems to be found. This, i agree with some, is too happy sing-along-ish.

Good ear!  I agree.
I heard a lovely woman do this on button accordion this summer in Montmartre.

I'll take these guys' banjo music over Mumford & Son ANY DAY!  And these lyrics over whiny M&S too.

These guys seem a little more "authentic" and sincere than the Mumfords to me.  This tune does get a lot of play, but I guess it's because it is a new release.  Nice melody.

Agreed; I bought their last album and was disappointed. This is simply lame.

9 plays in the last 30 days, 9? This song ain't near that good.

We are up to 11 and I still haven't heard it enough.  I don't mind a heavy rotation for brand new music like this.

Hmm I've heard this before... must have been on NPR or something. 7 for now, I like their more aggressive/funny stuff better.

Here is a fun one off the new album.  Meant to be seen/heard live though.  The studio version does not do it justice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PY5wESAtGHI
I have been streaming the new album on NPR and it's great!  I saw the boys play this and a few other new ones live this summer.  Looking forward to downloading from the band's website first thing Tuesday morning.
First I tried to like this song.

Then I tried to tolerate it.

Then I tried to tune it out.

Then I left.
They're like a tamer, more blue grass-y version of Guster. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

New Avett Brothers = Great Day!
