I wake up some mornings
thank God not as often as I used to
slow and heavy from dreams with you

you've found a way back in
once again my long lost friend
funny to see that after all these years
I miss you the same

So I drag myself to the corner café
and for a second I see you there
like in the good old days
and I wonder what you're doing ?
what are you up to these days ?

I sometimes wish you would call me
but then I wouldn't know what to say

and I see you
in every cab that goes by
in the strangers at every cross road,
in every bar

it takes a glass or two
for it to settle down
for your shadows to stop following me
around

I find myself walking back
to all the places we knew
dreaming and wishing
to somehow run into you

And of course I wonder
does it happen to you ?
Does my ghost ever come looking for you ?

and I see you....

I like the music and chord selection along with the slight melody. The lyrics are sort of empty...in a banal kind of way. Not sure why I don't like them. I don't mind the story...I just think it would have been told better with more thoughtful lyrics. I think it's the lack of emotion in her delivery.
I thought this was Jack White at first but his voice isn't near as whiney.

I think she's beautiful (if that's her on the cover)
I think its creative how she's used a play on words
I can relate cause I'm there
But I don't like the drag of the song.......Dylan can do it better

That's hardly fair. Dylan can do it better? You gotta be kidding!
She's the daughter of our great French actress Jane Birkin  {#Roflol}, and it is her first CD.  Not bad don't U think ?

Lethargic, yet strangely addictive.

Lovely, but like the cover art, a bit...morose? Downbeat? ICU? Play on words, or should she be in the intensive care unit?
Not musically impressive enough to justify listening to those uber-depressing lyrics.  Downer.

ICU2 Lou!
