A rehash of their earlier "You Really Got Me" but lightning can indeed strike twice. The one-two punch was the template for countless garage bands that came after (along with, of course, the Kingsmen's version of Louie Louie).

Worked stage crew on one their concerts. I was tasked to go buy them a case of beer. Borrowed my friend's 'Heavy Chevy', forgot to put it in Park when I got back. It rolled into a guy's BMW. Good concert though!

music can spark memories: this song sparked a partial memory from my childhood. in those impressional years a dirty song can really make an impact. so 2 live crew(luke skywalker) took this song and made it filthy. nowdays, thanks to the internet, you don't need to remember too much to research & turn that partial memory into full. here is that song

Wouldn't be as good.  Its rawness warts an all is part of makes it so great.  This was low fi at its best and I say that in a good way.

Love it! I drove my parents crazy with my enthusiasm for this song when I first heard it over the radio when I was 4 or 5. When I was 17, driving a hot-rod Cutlass with G-60 racing slicks, smoking weed, and drinking beer, it was in my 8-track AudioVox, and it ROCKED!

I agree that it would have been great if it was a better production but those were the days.  The Beatles had George Martin and a few years newer technology to give them a little edge by the time Abbey Road came along.  The first Beatles album I had was 'Introducing the Beatles' and the recording/production was not any better than this.
