You were there
I dont know why
Maybe we were brothers
In another time
Among a hundred trains
And all those trite refrains
Somehow you let your train go by

I said ive never felt pain
I travel in submarines
Dont think i'd make much of a swimmer
So i live under the waves
Because you cannot sink
If you dont try to swim
But somehow i just let you in

And i dont know how you made it past my guards
You knew the secret of their hearts

Chorus
So lay me down gently
Gather me to you
On a sleppy sea of indigo and blue
Sing me a song thats tender
And love will come to you
On a sleepy sea my love will come to you

You said i understand your sense of fear
The city's made of timber and the flames are on the hill
But in a still born world, in a strange and troubled time
I will sing you lullabies

And i dont know what tomorrow has in store
But i will pin my heart to yours

Chorus
So lay me down gently
Gather me to you
On a sleppy sea of indigo and blue
Sing me a song thats tender
And love will come to you
On a sleepy sea my love will come to you

Bridge
And at the crumbling of the hour, in her twilight evening gown
Over waters emerald green we'll watch the silver sun go down

Chorus....

This song makes me want to smack her. I can't stand that "little girl" voice. Wimpy and insipid.

I'm not sure why either, but perhaps it's for the same reason I am entranced by it:  Ms. Duvekot's 'little girl' voice.  I'm a sucker for women with similar voices.  Does this make me a pervert?

You don't like the song so you want to "smack her"

A seriously entitled incel

Real men don't hit women you jerkoff!

Antje's a quirky favorite of mine.

A pervert? Of course not. What I find difficult about recent times is how there is such (justified) focus on the safety of children from actual perverts that adults (and parents) are scared to show any affection to children in case it is misinterpreted as being somehow perverted.

As such, I think we have done our children a huge disservice by withdrawing a degree of care and comfort in their development in current times.

Rant over. . .

A righteous. and indeed thoughtful, rant. Kids are now missing out on much adult affection on account of the 'pedo scare', and contact between adults and kids has been seriously reduced to the detriment of both and society as a whole. And, for sure, you'd not get another Maurice Chevalier singing "Thank heaven for little girls" these days...

Of course, different people really do have different voices. Sometimes this is nothing more than their voice. Not everything that you don't like is an affectation. Sometimes, of course, the universe is trying to piss you off. Successfully this time, I warrant.
"cool" album cover.  How is her name pronounced, anybody know?

First time hearing this one.  Nice in its way.  My ear had me thinking she was Patti Griffin there for a second.

Me too, in a good way.  May have to add her to my collection of favorite female musicians:  Patti, Neko Case, the Wailin' Jennys, Allison Kraus, Tift Merritt...
Nice PSD :)

You mean, because she's completely nasal and monotone?

Not sure what it is about her voice - but it ALWAYS makes me stop and listen.  I love everything I've heard from her.
Hell No!  Antje's voice is scores above Nora's ... Nora = meh!

Antje is terrific in concert! She is very funny, too

Maybe because I was just listening to Crazy Horse, but this sounds pretty sappy to me.

Her voice sounds a bit like Shawn Colvin, but with really bad songs.
I absolutely love this woman's voice and everything we've heard of her on RP {#Music}
Indeed. And that's a high compliment!

Don't usually go for the warbly-voiced types, but she travels in submarines.  How can anyone resist that?  And the instrumentation and style sound like north Georgia bluegrass-tinged ballads, familiar and comfortable.
Beautiful song! Also check her website.
This is just beautiful.
Melt.
Much more like Lucy Kaplansky vs. Nora.

CVC Abednego?  What about Shadrach and Meshach?  Wha...?

Forgive me, but this song sounds just about right at the passing of our black lab Molly. If her soul mate Kirby, our other black lab, could pick out a song for her, I think it might be this one. I know...sappy, right? Sorry.

Her voice is a little on the "cutesy" side for me, but I find myself enjoying the song despite that.  In fact, I like it quite a bit.
Nice song, sweet and pretty

Sweeeeet.
Clean and simple - easy listening to start the day
Nice. 7 for now, but may go higher.
Going up on 2nd hearing 6 > 7.
What a lovely voice.
I already liked her music. This song is special. I love her lyrics.
This is easy on the ears. I'm ready for another listen.
Nice simple melodic song.
