And the rain falls down in sheets of blue and gray.
Where did the Sun go, where's my summer's day?
And everyone's in love, oh everyone but me.
Everyone's got someplace they have to be.

And everybody's on their own every single day
They wanna tell you otherwise but don't know what to say.
And I can tell you something which I know this much is true.

And everybody earns a little less than what they say
They're all saving pennies just to last a day.
And I can tell you something which I know this much is true.

Oh she lives in a world tucked inside her head
Crying every night before she goes to bed
And he's leaving here tomorrow, or so he says
Living on his sorrow, but he'll forget tomorrow.

And everybody's on their own every single day
They wanna tell you otherwise but don't know what to say.
And I can tell you something which I know this much is true.

And everybody earns a little less than what they say
They're all saving pennies just to last a day.
And I can tell you something which I know this much is true.
This much is true, this much is true, I know this much is true.
This much is true.

I love her voice, it's powerful and rich without her having to shout like too many singers who mistake power and strength with being loud and shouting more than singing.

I am not familiar with this definition of "powerful".  It's nice enough, but "powerful"?  No.

Hers is by far one of the best husky voices that are all the rage these days. Love the lilt in it! Has a really solid hook embedded in it too

I like her voice. She can be soulful, or poppy, and can belt it out. Sweetly. Many of her dynamic songs, like Love Love Love, are not on iTunes. Annoying. Got Amazon it.

FYI, Bill.  this song is not listened on the track listing. Either this cut is from another album, or it was omitted inadvertently from the song titles on this one.

The song originally appeared on the "This Is the Life" single from the album of the same name, and was later included on that album's digital deluxe edition.
She even looks a little like Melanie.
