The sunlight looks so beautiful on your dying face
Gives a sense of urgency to our kiss
Even the flowers on parade
Fear soon their cameos will end
We are friends because we know how much it means
Sharing in the story given the ending
Somewhere someone now writes our names
But this edition's limited
So when we touch let's keep in mind
This flesh is rotting all the time
And when we make love be advised
Tomorrow we could both evaporize
If there's something you desire
Confess it now while we're alive
And when we make love keep in mind
That there's a universe inside
This sexy creature
Somewhere someone now writes our names
But this edition's limited
So when we touch let's keep in mind
This flesh is rotting all the time
And when we make love be advised
Tomorrow we could both evaporize
If there's something you desire
Confess it now while we're alive
And when we make love keep in mind
That there's a universe inside
This sexy creature

Is it just me, or is "Chinawoman" a dubious choice for a stage name?

Also, Dude, "Chinawoman" is not the preferred nomenclature.  "Asian-American woman," please.
This has such a Ween feel to it. Tried and True maybe.
Is it just me, or is "Chinawoman" a dubious choice for a stage name?
No good russians can be.. russian imperialism is forever in their blood and minds.

Decision made: I really like it.
"Evaporize" -one of my new favoritest words!

Better check your speakers
I really like this but man, changing that stage name was the right call.
Bill...I just love how your mind works. I can just see you making all sorts of funny faces as you put this set together. As always, long live RP!
I thought this was Robert Plant before checking!
I can't say I'm a fan, but I like that it's original. I thought until now, looking at the artist, that it was a man singing. That it's a woman singing raises my feeling for this song. Can't articulate exactly why.
Holy crap! I never looked at this page, when hearing this song, until now.
I always thought this was a guy singing!
This sounds so much like Tried and True by Ween which was released 7 years earlier.

So when we touch let's keep in mind
This flesh is rotting all the time
And when we make love be advised
Tomorrow we could both evaporize

It's not that bad. Bad is when someone else throws up a little in your mouth.
Really stands out. Like it a lot.
just down the road, but up till this very now never heard this.  pretty good eh?
I never realized this was sung by a woman.
I like it. Makes me feel uneasy, but at the same time, I'm groovin' along with it.
I do like this song, it's simple but rhythmic and nice.

Open your mind, mountain biker!  Her voice wanders in and out, seemingly without connection to the meaning in the words she's singing!  That lights up my mind!  (all the way to its 40-watt limit!)

Show off.

to all you haters, originality must really bother you

I like it too. I can't say why exactly, but it hardly matters. And I don't care what anybody else thinks.

But it is fun to read the comments...

I don't really  get all the hate in the comments. I've been listening Michelle Gurevich since the begining. I don't think you can judge the artist by one song. But that's just my opinion. Love her work.
Well now, that was interesting. I think I liked it. Not sure though.
At first, I was, ummmm, a bit confused...but it took me down a rabbit hole that I thoroughly enjoyed...a bit strange, a bit goofy, a bit repetitive, but somehow completely enjoyable...check out some of the youtube videos out there for her songs...if you have an hour to burn!
Interesting style of singing, kind of like a Sivert Hoyem or maybe Brad Roberts from Crash Test Dummies, but on a feminine scale. I kind of dig it. And a few of the pictures I saw of her make me think she is "this sexy creature" - rowr!

It's pretty cool; nice guitar work.

Yes! I came on to see if this WAS Tanita Tikaram. Does sound like her voice.

There's something undefinably creepy about this song.   Can't put my finger on it just strongly dislike.

Nah, pass. Once is one too many times.
100% likelihood of PSD next time.
This is not listenable.
Urp. Threw up a little in my mouth. Gotta PSD. This is horrible.

OK, I'm only a little worried, because I know myself pretty well, but damn if I can't help thinking she is indeed a sexy creature.

I kinda like it
wait...that's a woman?
OMG, make it stop {#Frustrated}
Ugh. This one feels really self-important and the riff is irritating. PSD! Away!!!

Though I like Tanita Tikaram - this makes me barf

I like this song more each time I hear it.

In the end...does it matter? This is a pretty good song, and her voice is in the range of, say, Nina Simone, Joan Armatrading, Chrissie Hynde, and Annie Lennox. It's all good.

Not sure if this debate is really important but when she sings in Russian (her first language), it's totally natural. I have no doubt a woman is singing :) I imagine they make her voice lower on recordings to make the songs even darker.

Check out this song too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeeosq6jGzE

I  checked out this "chick" on youtube, and yeah, she looks like a chick, but you never know, and I mean this with all respect, if "she" was once a "he."  A trannie?  I never heard a woman with a voice that low.  Maybe someone else can respond to this.

This is 2 days later.  I have to say that I think she is truly a woman, and born like that.  I combed through all of her live performances, and yes, she looks and acts more like a born woman than many born women I know.  What does it really matter you say?  I swear, I have no idea.

"When we make love, keep in mind that there's a universe inside this sexy creature."
"Uh, right. Wow, is that the time? I really gotta go ..."

I thought that was Robert Plant singing {#Eh}
Chill dudes.  From her dot-ca website:

Chinawoman's latest single, To Be With Others (2012), marks her first release since her move from Toronto to Berlin just over a year ago, and continues in the sultry, emotional and matter-of-fact style established in her two full-length albums. Driven by a subterranean beat, dark synths, and signature deep vocals, the new single comes paired with a music video atypically featuring the songwriter herself, in black and white, delivering the monologue in an East Berlin motel.

I like it.

  gotta problem dude?
A driving beat, a haunting melody and starkly honest lyrics - I love it!  This is a terrific find, Bill...  thanks!  I see you just added "Go" as well.  Don't be discouraged by irrelevancies...  this is the kind of stuff I rely on RP for!  I have both tracks on my portable player already, and will be listening to them when I'm in Berlin in about three months...

This song gives me the creeps.

Not my favorite, but probably doesn't deserve the current average rating of 2!  Ill wait until I hear it again before rating myself.

Edit:  wait!  Bill just said that was a chick singing!  Never would have guessed.  There are several dudes played on this station (Michael Miller anyone?) who sound way more like chicks that this chick does.
nice, i like it....
