Is this my real life, or some wounded fool's fantasy
I remember a colorful light, it once belonged to me
Until I painted my heart in white lies
They seemed so harmless at the time

Where can I find an answer for love that has no trust
In books with empty pages, covered in tomorrow's dust
When did my world become some empty place
I'm just an ivory statue on display

Paint my life, with color and light
No more lies, love me or let me say goodbye
Paint my life, with color and light
No more lies, love me or let me say goodbye

It's hard to hold you close when your touch feels so cold
No longer girl but ghost, now that you won't let me go
When did my joy become some unclean disease
That I learned not to speak of when you were listening

Paint my life, with color and light
No more lies, love me or let me say goodbye
Paint my life, with color and light
No more lies, love me or let me say goodbye

Paint my life, with color and light
No more lies, love me or let me say goodbye
Paint my life, with color and light
No more lies, love me or let me say goodbye
Love me or let me say goodbye

Thought I heard a Tango refrain.

I did!  I did!  With a nod to Elmer Fudd.
I was lucky enough to see them on last year's Big Bam (bike ride across Missouri).  I recommend both the band and the tour.

interesting
not the usual screaming (or maximum resonating) that seems to be in vogue with orchestrated pieces these days as in Florence an da machine

Nice find Bill

Yes!

like it lots! 😀
This song makes me feel like running away from home and getting into more trouble than I thought I could handle, but finally finding happiness, albeit at great cost.

I wonder if they named themselves as an homage to Shel Silverstein?

Really great to hear SHEL on RP. A great sister band coming out of the great state of Colorado!

Nice!  Just spent some time in Ft. Collins last month.  Good music scene there.

These guys seem to be talented women actually.

An album track, not a single.  Good vocal presence.  Famous sounding.  Cocteau Twins-meets-Sarah McLachlan.  A Kurt Weill/Broadway sounding musical arrangement.
