His age and style remind me of Johnny Lang. Though I think Lange was better. (Note that I only know Lang's "Wander This World" album.)

Not so much.  Seems too affected.
 Agreed, the difference between barrel-aged añejo rum and some of the chemically enhanced pretenders available. Not bad, gives you a warm feeling, but you know it's synthetic. Looking forward to seeing how this artist develops, very promising set of tools at his disposal.

Only on RP do I find this kind of meta. Kudos. {#Cool}

Curse later Tom Waits for making the scratchy, shouting, gravelly voice popular. This is painful.

For those who would 'curse' Mr. Tom Waits for anything, much less his style: You obviously have some issues.  Tom Waits is a living legend, while you are an armchair critic with no ear for good music.  As I've always advised; if you hear a Tom Waits song that you don't like....keep listening.  Over and over and over if necessary....until you understand what he is doing.

...got an 8 from me just on the harp rip!
Pretty old skool for a young man. Snappy guitar, robust voice, stripped-down sound, sung with feeling - what's not to like? Like a really sharp pub singer, and that's a compliment coming from this regular pubgoer. 7 from the Nottingham jury.

Great lyrics ..a young man struggling with growing pains...a raw talent  {#Sunny}
hope he can stay sane and grow, good start.......
Oh save us - this is terrible - where is this flow of mediocrity coming from....DJ !!!
Please, someone give the poor guy a cough drop.
Considerating his young age and immature voice, the quality of the music and the insightful lyrics, I think he's definately a rising talent,...one to watch.  Much better than average, he gets a low 8 from me.
